This NBA season doesn't seem as interesting...

Very down year with stars hurt and the east being so-so in terms of competition. Stern retiring on Feb 1 rather then the end of the season is odd also.

I would suggest that there is a new batch of players entering the league soon, similar to the 2003 to 2005 period. I think its going to get interesting soon enough. Most people might think its a foregone conclusion who will win too.

Eastern Conference = everyone is just waiting for the Heat/Pacers playoff matchup

I think the western conference is still pretty intriguing, although, there have been a number of injuries that hampers that right now.

Also.... its just the midseason slump.... the excitement of the new season has worn off and the playoffs are still far enough away that its excitement isn't here yet.

Yep Kobe sales out arenas & Tv Ratings sky rocket, If you hate or love him, people still want to see him regardless, especially as his career is coming to an end. You don't get too see many like him in a lifetime & probably never will.

I will say a lot of stars are injured, half of the league being a forgone conclusion and it is right before all star break. This is the grind time.

How is half of the league a forgone conclusion? At most there are 10 teams that are a forgone conclusion and that's actually pushing it....Probably more like 8

Slight exaggeration, it was a reference that there are only 2 teams coming out of the East. I think we can pretty much eliminate enough western teams to make it more than half the league if you want to get technical. Not that I will not be interested to see how teams like DET and TOR do in the playoffs but the true excitement to some extent is how this all plays out.

LAKERS vs LAKERS is the commissioners dream finals.


Without the Lakers, the NBA suffers.


Haters want to hate them, but they move the dial.


Last year was propped up (to a degree) by watching them implode each week.


With LA as an unwatchable bad team of no-names, it simply hurts the league.


And it makes things worse that some of the good teams are less than big time "Q" factor.


Indiana and Portland might the be the most boring star driven teams in the history of the sport.


And as a fan of the perennially boring Spurs, that is saying something.

Lebron-hate can only carry it so far...


The NBA desperately needs the LAKERS to be the villain and the bandwagon.
