I don't care

I'll bring it up again

I was on my way to Fremont yesterday (3 long hours of driving and thinking --one way)
and know that the coaches were out recruiting and all on the by week

why can't the Husker staff recruit within state for the O line and the D line ???

I mean Nebraska has very large corn fed country boys now

we stopped in Central City at Caseys fer some road snacks --and thar in line was this 18 year old country boy prolly around 260 6' 4"

and he is just a runt to the fellars in this state

Tom Husker you live in the ONeil area ---I am sure thar is some tater eatin Irish boys that would dominate the lines position ---just agree with me sir

these coaches need to recruit in state tater eatin corn smacking cooooountry boys from the farm territories is my point !!!

this may help a little bit I guess

*pops gets off of soap stand

The boys from the small towns are honestly undersized now pops....

I still watch my home team cuz my cousin coaches them......they have like 140 lb kids on the OLine.

The big boys are coming from the Omaha area now.......but they grow up hating the Huskers and thinking Alabama is the shit.....so they leave the state.

Kids in small towns play video games and eat pizza rolls now.

The cornfed days are over unfortunately.

If they can find a kid who can pick up a lineman and throw em 10 feet, I don't care how many stars they have, make an offer on the spot.

I agree with pops though, particularly on the O-line. They just need a quick burst, they don't have to run from sideline to sideline like a D-lineman does.

It doesn't matter if they're undersized, that's why you have a weight training program. Nebraska has a lot of homegrown All-Americans that were O-line from days gone past.

There's got to be a pool of 10 big uglies a year in a state with the population of 1.5 million.

Problem is, I don't believe Dobson can develop strength and Pelini's system proves it defensively.

one of my farmer friends I have here in Kearney (has farm south of Kearney )

has 2 sons that graduated during the BC era

these two --if the walk on program was still going on ---would have been linemen

what I am saying is this

the farm boys feel unappreciated ---the coaches need to go after the corn fed beef boys

and not these city boys all puffed up on McDonalds and a game boy hanging off tharn ear

Those big bacon eatin milk drinkin hard workin farm boys don't exist anymore.....this is a fact now.

With today's technological advances people are farming out of their living rooms. The good old days are over sirs. I have seen this all first hand as many of my best friends took over their fathers' farms.

Shit irrigation systems are ran by cell phones.....combines are ran by sattelites.......bails of hay toss themselves through the air now......

I haven't seen anyone in my neck of the woods that would warrant a second look. However, there is a Runningback over in Atkinson (No it's not Jack Hoffman) who looks like the real deal. One of the Super Six I think, but was told by the Huskers that they won't take him because he plays inferior competition. I don't get it. Speed, size and talent transcends that shit. Bring him to camp and see what he can do.
