so who would your guys top 8 to WIN the tourney be now, not rankings, or seeds

1)nova
2)xavier
3)MSU
4)Duke
5)Kansas
6)Wichita
7)Purduee
8)UNC

It's kind of a bummer because there's a lot of potential FF teams that have been affected with injury. Texas Tech, Auburn, Clemson all have significant players who won't play in the tournament. Those would have been 3 teams capable of making a FF, and Texas Tech still might be able too.

I'd go:

1. Nova
2. UVA
3. Duke
4. Michigan State
5. Arizona
6. Gonzaga
7. Purdue
8. Xavier

Big 10 is trash this season. It doesn't help that decent teams like PSU, Maryland and Nebraska has either had god awful losses on their resume or a trash OOC schedule like the latter in Nebraska. I think in most seasons that Big 12 conference gets like 4 teams at best. OU doesn't deserve a bid IMO and neither does TCU or Baylor.

Everyone of those teams you mentioned from the B12 deserve in over PSU, Maryland and Nebraska lol

When they hit the 3 like they did last night they'll be a tough out .I question whether they'll be able to do that for 4 straight games to get to a FF.

im not a zags fan, ever, jus a thing of mine i think they get rated highly each year due to past success, higher than they should be at least

They probably are a little overrated relative to where they're ranked in the polls, but they don't matter anyway. I think their ceiling is a 4 seed if they win out, which is fair I think. It's a testament to how good Few is to have lost 4 of his 5 best players off last year's team and still be a top 15. They'll be even better next year too I think.

Agreed , and they have had some stellar teams. I just hate how they get rep at times

Yeah, and conference expansion has all but killed the true mid-major programs. Teams like Butler, Creighton, Wichita State, VCU and other programs of that ilk, have all moved up in conference hierarchy. We had a pretty sustained run of true mid major conferences producing a final four participant(GMU from the CAA, Butler from the Horizon, VCU from the CAA, Wichita State from the MVC). And there were numerous other programs that made an elite 8 in that time frame(Dayton, Davidson, St. Joe's, Kent State, and Tulsa dating back to 2000)

Pretty sure the Mac put two teams in the year that Kent State went to the elite 8

Look at Western Kentucky, they proved they deserved a bid to the tournament, picking up some good wins in non-conference play. Sure they took a few bad losses but that happens because the target is on your back in these leagues.

the best power 5 teams struggle to win on the road against other power 5 teams, yet if you're outside the power 5 you're expected to win those road games or you're out
