Not a bad plan at all. I think though seed 1 would play the 4,5 winner. The 2 seed would play the 3,6 winner. I may be wrong

Nope!

If both 5 and 6 win wild card weekend, then 1 plays the team that is theoretically, by playoff birth position, the worst team. That would mean GB plays Seattle in BDT's scenario and Dallas would play AZ.

You are correct, they reshuffle.

Again as a Lions fan, there could be a wrench in this plan.......If Detroit wins out they win the NFC North.....and therefore GB will be a Wild Card team......Same goes for Seattle if they win out Seattle wins the NFC West.

Dallas is on the outside looking in right now, with Seattle and Detroit holding the tie breaker over Dallas.....If the Cowboys want into the mix they are going to have to beat Philly.......

Nope!

It has nothing to do with a reshuffle. The highest seed in any round of the playoffs always plays the lowest seed. So, in the wild card round, 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5. If 3 wins and 4 loses, then in the next round 1 plays 5 and 2 plays 3. If 3 loses and 4 wins, then 1 plays 6 and 2 plays 4. If 3 loses and four loses, 1 plays 6 and 2 plays 5. If 3 wins and 4 wins, 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3.

That's what I meant by reshuffle. The highest seed will always play the lowest remaining seed

It seems like Pittsburgh was a 6 and beat the Colts

If this scenario played out....I think we'd lose in the NFC Championship to Green Bay.

Yes, Green Bay would destroy us... However, I think the Seahawks match up well with the Packers. .. and I think we match up well with the Seahawks.

Yes, I know that and everyone knows that. There are plenty of wrenches in this "plan". I was merely pointing out what my dream scenario would look like.

I disagree. I think we match up better against the Packers than against the Seahawks.

I know we destroyed Seattle when we played them, but that was early in the season and they weren't playing to the level they are playing now. We would have difficulty running the ball against them with the way their front seven are playing right now.

I think we could run more effectively on the Packers which, hopefully, would keep their offense off the field.

Rodgers would, of course, torch our defense, so if our offense doesn't use upwards of 38-40 minutes of the game, we would probably be schmucked. But I think our offense is capable of doing that against them.

Only let them have the ball five times verses five times for us and I like our chances of pulling it out with a late TD or field goal.

The NFC Playoff seeding just got a whole lot more interesting.
