Cousins will get the next 4 games at least imo...if WAS goes 4-0, or even 3-1 I think they have to stay with him...but from the looks of the JAX OL vs the WAS DL...Cousins did look good, but the Skins were going to win that one even if Grossman was QB.

I hear 6-8 weeks is the normal timetable for this injury with no fracture. Can't short term IR him (Cofield). Keep him on the roster or IR?

If this is the case, I keep him off IR. But I also tell him that he will not play until 100% healthy and he has had a couple of weeks to work with the offense. No more of this no practice and go right into a game. We saw how that ended up last year. Gruden needs to set the expectations right away, not let this get out of his control like Shanahan did.

We're looking at 2-3 months normal without him pushing recovery. Going into or mid Dec. If the teaming is going good,no need to put him back in the starting line-up. If the team is doing bad, no need to put him in the starting line. Just my thoughts about it.

If we're in contention, we still need a backup. Presumably RGIII > Colt McCoy (but who knows?). If we're out of contention and Cousins isn't the answer, we still need to find out what RGIII can do.

Its good to push yourself, but if he over does it and makes things worse ( See playoffs, Wash vs Seattle), he could turn a season ender into a career ender. Yeah I agree with you. Taking a back seat is not in Griffin's DNA. But that's no reason to IR him if he can be back in 6-8 weeks. Let's cross that bridge when we get there.

you wont find that out because the injury clouds things in terms of if he is playing badly ( which he will if he is in the pocket only )

RG3 with the news nothing is broken and the season isnt over for him.

We cannot Ir RGIII. We need to get him ready just in case something happens to Cousins. We need to have 2 strong QB's so an injury does not end our season. We have the talent to win the division, if we play up to potential. Philly will be our first real test to our defense and our ball control.

i wouldnt IR him. When he gets healthy, he needs to be able to at the least get onto the practice field. But I would start now setting realistic expectations and let him know that If Cousins is winning games, he wont get to play this year. If we are out of the division hunt, we arent going to risk you getting hurt in meaningless game. So reality is, set the expectation that the only way you get back on the field is if bringing you in gives us a better hance to make the playoffs than either Cousins or McCoy who are both healthy.
