@Mingo You would be proud of me. I am watching the White Sox/Mariners right now... Also, I will be at the White Sox/Astros game next Wednesday.
Enjoy the local representatives of Houston.

Robert's pinch hit HR was cool, but the Sox lost again. Among all the other problems - Pedro Grifol is dumb as a box of rocks. The Sox minor league teams are kicking butt - so the future may be there.

DeJong was safe.

DeJong was safe.
Maldonato is done at Catcher - his defensive skills are shot and Grifol has given 125 ABs to his .077 batting average. Meanwhile Kory Lee the rookie catcher is hitting .260 with nearly a 700 OPS - has the 2nd best pop rate and the best throw out percentage of anyone in the league.

The Sox are stacked with young pitchers in AA and AAA - Thorpe looks ready for an MLB run - Nastrini is already part of the rotation, Noah Schultz is a top 50 pitcher and Grant Taylor - who has pitched 35 innings without issuing a walk -with a .063 WHIP and a .173 BA against. Gannon pitched very well last night - he will likely be in a future rotation.

There's about 8 more pitcher ready for a 4th or 5th spot.

Based on minor league record - I think the Sox are about top 5 in minor league talent - and appear to be ready to deal Crochet - Fedde - Pham - DeJong and even Robert.

DeJong was a nice pickup for them. I am a huge DeJong fan. Glad to see him have a bounce back season. White Sox get him for half a year and his trade value while NOT GREAT is something. Always works out when you buy a player to trade for a young prospect.

I'm having flashbacks to Mike Shanahan.

Sean Payton who controls the spigot to any Broncos information - would be sending Javonte Williams a message based on recent opinion columns. I don't think Javonte ran last season with the same abandon he showed in his rookie year. Guys coming back from back knee injuries can sometimes take a while longer than just physical recovery to have the same confidence in running at the same level as before. Payton is letting Javonte Williams know he is watching.

The Kansas City Chiefs recent crime wave is an indication of franchise decay. IMO. After the Head Coach's son - also a KC coach goes to jail for homicidal drunk driving- the players are still getting drunk - having accidents and fleeing the scene (off a really busy interstate interchange).

I don't know if Buggs is a bad guy or just a guy somebody powerful really doesn't like.

Not only is this forum boring this week but this off season crap is pure hell. Camp, pre-season and opening day kickoff can't come soon enough. All I have to watch these days is the Rockies and they stink.

Really, really happy with Nuggets drafting Holmes tonight. He was obviously their target and I didn’t mind them moving up to get the guy they wanted. Most of the press on him is about his offense, but I think he has a chance to play as a rookie dipper to his defense. He was all conference defense as a freshman and his junior year was defensive player of the year.

Agree with all of this, but he is going to have to be really on his assignments as Malone is old school and simply doesn't trust rookies. Malone's use of younger players is my only complaint with his coaching.

Can't believe the Lakers got Knecht where they were picking last night. Steal of the draft with a solid NBA frame, athleticism and shooting. Stings even more that he is a Colorado kid.

Name me a NBA coach that isn’t criticized for using rookies more. ;) They get paid to win now, and trust has to be built. I’m expecting Strawther to get a lot more playing time this year. I’m a fan of his. He was doing well until his injury and then never got back his shooting rhythm.

And here are rookies who did play/contribute a lot under Malone:
Murray
Bones
Braun

I love the Holmes pick. For the Nuggets it should be all about strengthening the backend of the rotation so the Nugs can rest the starters longer without getting blown out by the opponent's rotation. Holmes does that. He also offers a chance to play with the Joker on occasion.. Holmes is a Nugget type player - he plays unselfishly and can help at the basket and on the perimeter at both ends of the court. In that regard Holmes may be the most perfect player to the Nuggets to acquire out of this Draft outside of the top two.

I think the Nuggets might move Michael Porter Jr. for the right return - while in the past I think he was an untouchable. I think he puts too much pressure on himself when the state of the particular game would indicate that Porter needed to take over on the offensive end for a while. Porter - I think can work that out for himself - I'm sure he steps back and looks at his game to improve based on past performance.

I would personally hate to see KCP leave, but he will likely get a better offer - and based on the past indications - players almost always take the better offer.
