The epitome of class. As much as I hated the Habs, Beliveau is one of my all-time favorite players.

My favorite player ever. The best pure skater I ever saw. Lidstrom, Niedermeyer, Coffey and a few others really good too but considering the era and what Orr did, there is just a "wow" factor. So sad that his career was cut short by injuries but he was one of the toughest SOB's to ever play. Bobby Clark talking about Orr in the 76 Canada Cup will tell you all you need to know about his greatness.Greatest, most dominating player ever.
That was a huge trade. The last time the Leafs were really relevant but it looks like these kids they have now are getting them headed in the right direction. It is good for hockey to have the Leafs and Habs back to some prominence in the league.*cough cough*
man, I miss trades like that/ two teams just blowing shit up.That was a huge trade. I think the closest we'll ever get again to deals like that are the one-for-one rstar (or in Edmonton's case, star-for-second-pair-defenceman) deals we saw in the last year. The cap just spoils any chance of trades like this happening again.man, I miss trades like that/ two teams just blowing shit up.
My friend had her rookie card
1979: Gordie Howe shows he hasn't lost his scoring touch.
Howe, 51, who hasn't played an NHL game since retiring from the Detroit Red Wings after the 1970-71 season, scores a first-period goal in the Hartford Whalers' 3-3 tie with the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Civic Center.
Love the player and uni. RIP Mr. Hockey.
