For me, the wallet is the big thing. That is a very personal item. I mean, that's something that every (well, most) man carries on them every day, and I mean if it were me losing my father I'd want to hunt that person down just for the wallet...

The wallet stuck out to me to pix but then I started to think a little more about the iPad and jewelry as well.god only knows if it was his iPad the range of things he could have written or stored in there.and they didn't specify what the jewelry was for all we know it could have been a wedding band or stanley cup ring.dont get me wrong I'm just going off of possibilities but the whole thing makes me angry.

At the risk of having a lot of stuff thrown at me, I will say this:

Why did they leave all of this stuff in a car in a parking lot overnight to begin with though?

I'm not trying to sound cold, but they really shouldn't leave that kind of valuable stuff in the car overnight.

That said, I certainly hope that whoever stole it turns it in as they requested in the article.

I don't think the stuff was left over night in the car. Everything was stolen at the post funeral reception. I guess it wasn't that smart to leave everything in the car, but at the same time I'm sure that never crossed her mind. Why would it right? She as well as everyone else wouldn't have thought someone would do something so horrible.

True, that and some of the items could have been given to her the day of the funeral and she just put them in her car. It's still horrible to even think of something like this happening. I put it up there with bastards that protest military funerals..There's a special place in hell for them all

Slippery slope my friend.

The same could be said about keeping valuables in your house, or walking around with a lot of money or expensive jewelry on. Or that a woman was raped because of the way she was dressed, so she must of been just asking for it?

She was probably more focused on grieving than thinking about someone being that low and breaking into the car to steal the stuff?

People are by nature scumbags, it's just some take it to a new level.

She probably had more pressing matters on her mind than not to leave those things in her car.

This is a despicable thing to have done, and I do think they'll get what's coming to them. It's unfortunate, but these thieves will succeed in selling these items. If there are people sick enough to steal them, there are people sick enough to buy them. In fact, there are people sick enough to pay a premium for them because of how they were acquired. They'll sell.

And I hope they do.

If they don't sell, these guys are going to be tough to catch. As soon as one of these items sells, it will be more likely that it will turn up. And it will turn up. At least one of the people sick enough to buy one of these items will be stupid enough to flaunt it. Once that person's caught with the item, he or she will like take a plea bargain that involves divulging information on where it came from, it will be traced back to the thieves, and they will be shipped off behind bars where they belong.

I don't understand how folks can have so little respect as to do these sorts of things, but they do, and situations like these arise. Fortunately, most of them get what's coming to them.

I think if these guys get caught with this gear jail, anal rapings and the like are the least of their worries.

Montreal cops are not to trifled with in any instance but keep the following in mind.

1) Pat Burns is legend in Montreal.

2) Cops love hockey players; most of the ones I've met played growing up and/or play in adulthood.

3) Pat Burns is an ex-cop. Cops do one thing better than anything else; they look after their own.

I just hope one of MTL finest finds these shitbags.

Good points. I forgot he was an ex-cop.
