Probably. They're kinda screwed. If they don't make the game safer in general, kids won't play, and if kids don't play, the NFL will suck.
It’s already happening. Youth participation in tackling football is 1/4 of what it was just 15 years ago.

I keep trying to tell people and they don’t listen. You just get rabble rabble wussification of America rabble rabble.

The kickoff isn't even the dumb rule. The dumb rule is the kicker can't pass the 50 before the player catches the ball. They really think the kicker is going to lay the wood so no head start for these brick walls. Ridiculous.

Teams could use a better tackler for kickoffs if he can actually kick. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened sooner, regardless of kickoff format. Maybe it would tip off teams when they switch him out for onsides attempts?

Until they teach defenders to wrap tackle instead of throwing shoulders, injuries will always be a part of the league. Defense is too often an attempt at intimidation instead of skill.

They can teach it all they want, but the initial face first hit for a wrap tackle hurts more, so we won't see that changing anytime soon.

I’m all for making the game safer. Eliminate KOs would be the safest and make the most sense.

We're treating the kickoff as if it were a 1 sided rule. A game-breaking TD return is off the board and so is a fumble recovery, which takes a little anticipation away from the game.It takes away each team's hope for something to swing their way

The receiving team should have the choice, get the ball at their own 20 or have the opposing team kick from their own 20 thus giving the receiving team an opportunity to enhance their field position

Kills the excitement. Seems most in this thread agree well a few wokies will take anything like robots lol
