He'll not only easily replace AB, I personally guarantee he produces at least 3000 all-purpose yards and 23 tds. All for a $720,000 cap hit.

Fort is not a good coverage linebacker so the Eagles can reliably only use him on run downs (1st/2nd), but the Eagles also generate decent pass pressure, so there may be situations where Fort can get additional playtime. LJ Fort is almost 30 so I'm not going to bank on him becoming a major franchise player or improving his weakness areas, but he's a solid linebacker, and it's clear the KJ Wright signing impacted this contract as the demand for non pass rushing linebackers is weak this year (whereas for some reason there's a ridiculous demand for safety, so much that every team has basically overpaid).

Regardless, the Eagles are paying him like a 2 down player, and $3-4M per year is not going to affect the team. I generally reserve A+ grades for for 1 year prove it contracts, or great bargain deals like Seattle got from KJ Wright, but this is a major exception. Philly was top 10 in run defense last year, but losing Michael Bennett, there will be a need to fill that void, ESPECIALLY with Barkley, a potential threat in Guice, and Elliott. Run defense cannot slack in that division.

In addition, the QB situation in the NFC East (outside of Philly IF Wentz can stay healthy) is atrocious. Smith wont be ready for the season and the Skins are poised to draft a rookie, Eli Manning sucks and wont have OBJ, and Dak Prescott just sucks ass in general. That said, all those teams have good (Skins debatable) rushing attackers, so if you're going to plan for anything, do it against the run... and Fort is strong in that aspect. I wouldn't be shocked if Philly shows multiple 7-8 men box scenarios next year, they'd be 100% correct for doing so, and Fort will absolutely be included in those setups. They may not even need to with him in the lineup, which is why this gets an A+ grade.

On a personal note, the Eagles fans have been somewhat annoying in the last few years, so I'm slightly annoyed I'm giving this an A+ signing, but it's too obvious.
