These days, Colorado is playing like a trace amount of flurries(not Fleury's).

An Avalanche is no big deal when you have a Guardian that causes earthquakes with a magical sword.

ON ESPN.com there is a podcast with Barry, Mat Barnaby, and EJ Hradek prognosticating that Dumbo has to make a move or his job is on the line if the Kings miss the playoffs. Why does no one understand that the Kings still have so much talent on the farm that they are not built specifically for today but for the longterm?

Those three have the combined intelligence of a soda can.

That being said, given the Kings just came out of a long term spell of losing and had so much promise coming into the year, Kings ownership might overreact if they miss the playoffs.

These guys like everyone else in their profession want something to talk about. Lombardi will make a trade if it makes sense. He isn't going to do anything to set the teams progression back. Yes the Kings have many pieces they could trade but that doesn't mean they will or should. I think the Kings can make the playoffs this season if they just stand pat. Winning the Cup however probably won't happen. That doesn't mean they should sell the farm for a 1 year run.

Lombardi is building this team the right way. He's also being patient. Good for him & screw all the so called experts. If they were experts they wouldn't be in the broadcast booth.

Times have changed. I remember the Goring trade. The Islanders gave up Dave Lewis in the deal who was taken #1 overall a few years back. It was a huge trade that to be honest helped both teams. Granted it helped the Isles out a lot more.

Most teams seem to be much more hesitant to give up top prospects now. I think that's why the Blues/Avalanche deal was such a big deal. The only other top prospect to be dealt at this point is Joe Colbourne by Boston in the Kaberle trade.
