In the pickem contest I went with Chicago and Philly. I don't know why.... I just think NO is due for a let down on the road. The Philly/NY Giants game is the hardest one of all. Probably should have gone with the home team and taken the Giants like you did, but I think Philly has more talent and just went gut on that one. Seattle is a tough one too.... I picked Colts, not because I think the colts are really any better than seattle, but because its a road game, and seattle did not play well on the road last week and won more because of the Texans play calling at the end of the game than anything incredible they did (that richard sherman interception came on a horrible decision to throw the ball after a horrible play call). I won't bet against Seattle at home, but I will on the road...

If the picks look tough, it just means you are being objective. IMHO

The hardest one for me to pick was New Orleans @ Chicago. I went with the Saints 'cause that offense is rollin' right now.

I have not made my picks because last week I picked too early and wanted to change. I will take Chicago though. I think it is time for at least 3 (undefeated) to go down. I'm just hoping it is not NE.....

Of course they are tough to pick; otherwise, everyone would be a millionaire!

That said, I don't find NO over Chicago and NE over the Bengals as tough to pick as some of the other games.

Are you going with Houston because you hate SF? Or are you going with them because you actually see them winning?

That's a tough question. I'd say some of both. I was impressed with the way Texans came all out to win and I think they are due for a win. They have the stats, they got the players(except for QB) and I think their defense can make Kaep look lost, however their is no doubt that I'm a more then a bit bias.

I'm probably going to get an earful back for saying this, but I don't see why people are treating schaub like he has the plague. In the first half he was lights out and picked the best secondary in the league apart. In the second half they got one dimensional and allowed our pass rush to get to him consistently. Sherman did a great job of baiting him on the interception, which made it look much worse. It just seems like he has become the fall guy for a team that went away from what was working because of one play that shouldn't have been called anyway since foster was consistently getting decent gains.

Heading into the final month of last regular season, when they were 11-1, Houston looked like a strong SB contender. Since then they have gone 4-6. While I'm sure that there is more to that change than Schaub's play, he has not played particularly well over that last ten-game stretch.

i hear ya. this Texans team imo is still a pretty tough nut to crack, but seems to be their own worst enemy at times. i do agree with you that i also don't think it's all on Schaub, though...

Agree. I went with the Colts (better overall team imo, playing at home), Ravens (Miami still reeling), Pats (better overall team, starting to gell), Chicago (mostly because of the weather), Gmen (not picking Chip Kelly again until he beats a good team) and Niners (mostly because of Schaub).

Is this straight up?

If you HAVE to pick these games, against the spread I'd Swap the NO/CHI pick.
If you are looking for just a few picks for betting at a book. I'd stay away from NO/CHI, NE/CINCY, and SF/HOU.

Take a look at the Chiefs, Lions, and Chargers.

No. That was a stupid fucking throw. Sherman deserves credit for taking advantage of the gift, but that is 1000% on Schaub and terrible decision making.
