It's gone too far the other way.

Losing 1 or 2 games and missing out on a bowl was bad. This is just as bad, if not worse.

I vote with my remote and do not even begin watching Bowl games until after Christmas unless maybe a B1G team is involved.

Nobody is taking the bowls too seriously.
They are fun for everyone involved.
You get to see fun inter-conference matchups that we wont normally see.

And honestly the FCS factor, conference game disparity, and OOC skews the wins a little bit.
5 FBS wins + 1 FCS win i not really any diffrent than a team who won 5 FBS wins and lost to a challenging FBS team.

We all have a choice. watch or not watch. No need to screw it up for those of us who like watching them.
Yep- it's the free market at work. If a bowl game exists, it's because enough people are willing to watch it to make it profitable. Are we liberals that we want to artificially interfere with it?

More like a chance to win a participation trophy than anything else, but honestly all bowl games are just a way for corperate America to make more money off these college athletes and give them "gifts" which I find ironic since the NCAA waves a magic wand and says it is ok for the people who make US rich to give athletes things but no one else.

Those of us who tune in to MACtion or Sunbelt games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights will appreciate all of the bowls, considering how there will be an 8 month CFB hiatus beginning mid-January.

For those of you bechin' are you really NOT going to watch...

Nebraska (5-7) vs Duke (7-5) in the Quick Lane Bowl on Dec 28th 5:00 pm ET?

or

Nebraska (5-7) vs Washington St (8-4) in the Foster Farms Bowl on Saturday Dec 26th at 9:15 pm ET?

Those are some of the projections coming out for likely the first (5-7) team in.

They should let all teams practice until bowl season is over. That is the only reason the system keeps this shit going. It costs the schools that go to a lot of the lower tier bowls. They don't sell the minimum ticket allotment.

I look at it this way. It sates the thirst for us CFB fans thru that longggg month of December waiting for the January Bowls to arrive.

I'd rather have a few xtras tide me over throughout that month to prevent the wicked withdrawal symptoms that would ensue for weeks on end.

Since both teams suck 5-7 Missouri against 5-7 Nebraska would at least be interesting for the rivalry factor...
I dont think thats how it will work. I think they will put them in whatever low tier bowl their conference is affiliated to.

I would rather the bowls go away completely and start an 8 team playoff the week after the end of the regular season. Also rans need not apply. :D

Yeah i know, but if their going to put shit teams in bowl games at least make it intriguing. I'd watch Nebraska/Missouri before watching Nebraska vs. Duke.

Pretty sure the SEC has all of their bowl tie-ins filled.

Missouri could be the odd man out.

Big 10 and Big 12 are the conferences that are having a hard time filling their tie-ins.

Don't be surprised if the NCAA gives those conferences (5-7) teams first dibs to fill their contracts.

From the Big 12, that would be Kansas St (if they lose to WVU) and Texas (if they beat Baylor)

If you're gonna do that, make it 16. I could get behind that.

The NCAA isn't clear about (5-7) teams beyond #'s 1-5 in APR. #'s 1-5 have already qualified.

I think they did that intentionally as to let the conferences fill their bowl tie-ins.

Like I said....

If the Big 10 and Big 12 use up their unfilled bowls with their (5-7's) then Missouri will probably get left out regardless of their APR.
