I think my hatred for the Cowboys was actually cemented during the late 90s when they were on the downhill side of their run. After another unjustified nationally televised prime time airing, the host network segued to a postgame Shania Twain concert at Texas Stadium.

It wasn't a Canadian singing country music in a Southern accent that turned my stomach. Her supermodel looks were always enough to cancel that out. It was that she walked onto the stage in a Cowboys jersey. Which she quickly took off so we could admire her in a skimpier silver outfit. Something about that paid association with her and the Cowboys just went too far for me.

Anyway, this Youtuber made a great video about the truly excessive craziness of the Cowboys back when they were actually a good team:

Cowboys bandwagoners did it for me. And that was way back in the 70's lol...

That and the America's team was annoying. I don't directly blame them for it, though. That actually was good marketing...

Good news. I heard Kansas City is ahead of Dallas this year having the most viewers per game broadcast.

Sounds like an extreme case of pent up desire for the Village People instead of a super hot Shania Twain....

Ya I don't think I've heard "America's team" from the media in a long time. Maybe it was accurate in the Roger Staubach era when he was one of the best quarterbacks of his time and the Cowboys were a much more dominant team.

It was nearly 60 years ago when I lived in MD and dad and I started going to Skins games. Nothing has changed since then that makes me hate them any less.
