i wouldn't. cost a bunch to rate, takes over a year (mine too 14 months), chances of losing it are decent (or having it switched ... it happens! ... and why? he's not going to sell it.

also if it comes back anything less than ten it's a total waste.

on less than ten on a new card (which an be worth some bucks) it will hardly be worth what the time and money you spent to get it graded. it's value is simply what the owner feels it is to them ... in this case being a present from his wife. would you want to find out it's a 9 ... or an 8?
