The Washington Post reports the Redskins haven't made Kirk Cousins an offer since February.

Per reporter Mike Jones, the Redskins are still offering "roughly" $20 million per year and "low guarantees." In real-world terms, it's a boat load of money. In franchise quarterback terms, it's an insult. The Redskins are not going to win Cousins back without significantly sweetening their offer, something dictatorial front office power struggle winner Bruce Allen seems loth to do.

If true, then any reports citing Bruce Allen as "doing everything that we can" to get a new deal are patently false. Technically he is correct because Kirk ain't stupid.....24M is after all.....24M in real dollars.

Both sides might be waiting to see if Carr gets a new deal.

Dean ole' buddy, be careful, you're going to ruffle a whole lotta feathers by comparing Cousins to Carr. The loyalist won't settle for any comparison that doesn't include the very best in the game. :nono: ( well not Brady)

The F.O. appears to be putting themselves into position to say "hey we tried" we were 100 percent committed but Kirk's side was not. The latest I heard was about a 5 year extension. They offered this before the draft, if no deal is done before the draft ....a trade seems like a must.

Is Bruce Allen that big of an idiot? He is literally the worst team president in the NFL.

Let's get this straightened out once and for all......"I'm General manager, Team president and all to be damned, get it right!"_______Bruce Allen.

Actually Carr is a very good comparable. Aside from Kirk being older and picked two rounds later. I think Carr and Stafford getting an extension might paint Bruce into a corner he wants no parts of.

I thought you wanted to give KC the world.

I want to give him a fair deal in line with what it takes to keep a franchise QB. And Carr is going to get the deal Kirk is asking for, if not more actually.

This dude could potentially get himself fired with this one. He keeps renting Cousins trying to draft or acquire someone of equal or better long term value. All signs point to trading Cousins while lying to the public about not being able to get a fair deal done. That's my assumption at this point.

I don't believe that it's an assumption on your part, in fact I'm with you 100%. We all know that any team determined to get a player that they really want usually does so unless the player makes it impossible to get done. From a business standpoint I can't see Cousins overvaluing himself from a market perspective. I can see the organization placing a value on Kirk lower than the market demands. This to me is where there is an impasse.

I really believe he will be traded if he isn't signed long term before the draft gets here

Just going to point out that once it was apparent we were going to part ways with Griffin, Bruce made a point of letting everyone know Mike was 100% on board with the trade up to get him. We now know thats bullshit. But signing Kirk long term to a market deal would basically be admitting Mike was right all along.

Bruce aint going to do that unless he has no other choice. Cousins to the Niners for the 33 straight up might be his bail out plan. Sighting that Cousins and his side simply wanted out and he did what he felt was best for the organization.

If this happens, we should be able to get Kizer. Likely the season is a fail, and Kizer starts the last 2 to prep for 2018. Bruce should be terminated immediately, like not let back on the plane ride home. We would lose a franchise QB...but we could potential give the team an elite defense through FA.

You know that you're describing some form of parasite right? Well, with that in mind here's the 1st annual Bruce award..................upload_2017-3-30_20-39-36.png

So basically according to Tandler, looks like they are offering Kirk Six years, $124M with $24M of that guaranteed.

Thinking if they had made that six years with $60M guaranteed, this whole mess MIGHT have a shot at going away in a positive manor.
