My main question for the season is why didn't Jesus' group tell Rick how big the Saviors group is? I mean they got muscled by them, you would figure they would know.
I would be pissed if this was how they did it. As far as the show is concerned, Dwight is not a major character, and is even more of a cop out than Aaron would be.
Taking the comics into account...
Daryl could still become Dwight in everything except the traitor stuff. But without that, what is the point of Dwight?
What has been climactic about the show since the prison and the Governor????

That is kinda the point. This entire season, they have only killed Deana, Denise and Jessie's family. The last "major" character was Noah, and Tyreese about 4 episodes before that.Don't you think ending on a cliffhanger only to kill off a "fringe" member of the group 6 months later is just a bit anticlimactic...and severely underwhelming???
As @calsnowskier mentioned at some point, this is kind of the apex of the comics.
IMHumbleO, it HAS to be an A character.

This show no longer puts you on the edge of your seat worrying about the fate of your favorite character.

Exactly. This is the crux of the discussion BD and I had this past week.As well it should be, but look at AMC's recent track record....
They have literally steered clear of killing anyone of any significance.
And why end it in a cliff hanger.... If they kill an A lister last night, would you not tune in 6 month's from now just to see how everything changes, and how the group reacts to it???
I was thinking this as well. They have been getting sooo close to actual comics this season, that I was fully resigned to it, actually.@calsnowskier - This turned out to be wrong, but I couldn't help thinking this during the "Carol getting shot to pieces" segment:The way she was begging to die, I thought it was a strong possibility that she would fulfill her comic book fate and accept the embrace of a walker. I'm glad they didn't kill her off, but it would have made perfect sense if they had decided to do so.

Doing it the way they did it is the lazy, short-sighted way of doing it. It is also the completely expected way it was going to be done because studio execs will always grab the easy dollar over investing for the bigger dollar down the road.
It doesn't bother me. It's the end of a story. How they react hereafter is the start of the next arc.
I don't know why, but I'm not all up in arms about it, like seemingly EVERYONE else?
This "B" season may have been the best season of the whole series IMO.
I totally get what you are saying. And the funny thing is, we both have basically completely flip-flopped from our stance in the discussion we had last week.It doesn't bother me. It's the end of a story. How they react hereafter is the start of the next arc.

Yeah...not up in arms about, just think it could've been done better. I think I'm more pissed about watching Gimple on Talking Dead afterwards.
Abraham, sure. Take out a strong member of their team to send their message, but even then...If I was Negan in that situation I would kill the following:
*Abraham: Obviously an alpha male.
*Rick: Obviously the leader. Why wouldn't you take out the leader?
*Probably Darryl: If I had any knowledge of his actions against the group previously.
*Maybe Michonne: If I has any reports of her sword skills in action.
I wouldn't perceive the others as much of a threat and might let them go if they were going to basically be my slaves. Let them scamper back to Alexandria with their tails between their legs and go from there.
I don't know why he would let any of those 4 walk free under any circumstances.
