I kinda got a thing for Maggie. If they kill her off, I'm done with this show - just sayin'.

The actor that played Rick was on The Talking Dead last night and he said this coming season Rick is going to go off in ways that we can't expect. He's going to go all Rambo. That transformation started when that guy was about to take his son sexually. I also think every last one of us would have bitten that guys jugular out so I don't think he went to far.

From what I gathered, the people in Terminus are canibals that eat the people they attract there.

Remember what the guide said, "You become part of us, you make us stronger".

Shades of the Twilight Zone episode, "To serve man".

That and, "People have been coming here since this started".

OK, then were the frak is everyone else?

They help them deal with the conscience violating part of this, they have their own little religion. Remember the room where Rick and co. ran into that had all the candles? The names on the floor are probably the members of Terminus that have died and this is their way of remembering them.

The writing on the also reinforces this..."For us only" or words to that effect. Over and over on the walls of that room all the way around.

It's their way of putting that community above all others, even to the point of eating them.

I'm not buying the cannibal spin....(tho I think that's where the comic went).....but wouldn't it be much easier just to hunt for wild game??....and you'd think some of the residents of terminus would've already split from that scene if that were the case....plus, if they're really cannibals they're already killing themselves, as eating human flesh causes prion and/or kuru. Unless of course they are aware of that fact and it's their bizarre religious practice, and they don't care about dying.

Crazy Shit.

Exactly.

Just prior to the chase through the Terminus compound, Michonne asked why are the Termites doing this (being so inviting to outsiders). The one Termite answered something along the lines of "when you are part of us, we become stronger".......yikes, that's what the function of food is!

Also, the Terminus memorial room with all the candles was creepy with all the names of people written on the floor. Perhaps this room represents the homage paid to those whose lives are sacrificed to nourish the rest of the Termites...the victims of cannibalism are revered and honored in this manner.

Other observations--
If you recall the 'herding scene' through the Terminus, at one point Rick's fleeing group ran past some large metal storage containers, and you could hear the screams of prisoners calling for help...one of the voices was female, perhaps Beth and/or Carol.

Finally, I believe the train car floor is wooden...and I believe Rick's buried stash of weapons just outside the fence will come into play.

Now that I think of it, anyone know why they took the gang's weapons, frisked them, and then returned the weapons to them? I thought that was pretty odd.

To assess the arsenal maybe? False sense of security??...it seems that they had the situation pretty well under control.

Those termites didn't want to tip their hand right away......but all that went out the window when rick noticed the one guy had glen's pocket watch....and then the other guy had the riot gear on, and the woman wearing maggie's poncho...just blew apart their ill conceived cover.

This has been bothering me as well.

In the comics, the Hunters were a small band of about 6 people who simply didn't know how to farm or hunt. They ate people because they felt they had no other option.

The Termites appear to be a well organized, well armed group. Why do the cannibalism thing?

When Shane heard the radio broadcast in 2.1, was it a Terminus broadcast? I don't remember exactly what he heard on the radio...

To gain their trust. They knew they had superior firepower and it got the group to go along with them.

Path of least resistance.

If you can make the people come to you...it's easier than going out and hunting.

A human also provides more meat than a deer or rabbit.

And every human you kill is one less you're in competition for food.

But if they are not hunting, they are not competing.

Does it really help me if lots of people stop playing Monopoly, thus making my opposition field smaller, even if I never play Monopoly?

I'm betting it morphed into a religious thing.

Since Chris - I mean, Gareth - is going to be a recurring character next season, I guess we can look for a pretty long Terminus storyline.

I didn't notice, maybe I missed it...or perhaps it's a non issue or wasn't even there...but did anyone watching last night happen to notice if the car that sped away w/ Beth a few episodes ago was anywhere in sight in that terminus compound? Just curious.
