My bright controls on my TV must be set way down. The whole show was hard for me to see. Just too dark. Neegan and Alpha - damn Neegan, you crass bastard. Lol. Anyone else see the crawl space and wonder how Jerry was going to fit through. First thing I thought.

I thought Jerry was bit by the walkers. When he got out of the hole, his foot was bloody but how can anyone get their teeth through a shoe like that

The show just doesn’t grab the imagination anymore. And yes, that final closing scene was more than a bit disturbing. Alpha is not an attractive woman.

Now that the comics have ended, maybe the writers can come up with a whole new direction now that they are no longer bound by the comics

But they haven’t passed the comics yet.

I do hope they do not follow the comics lead on the Negan/Alpha thing. I thought that was kinda week in the comics.

Blah .. another boring episode. I'd stop watching if I didn't have so much time invested in it.

That's kind of where I am.

Silly rock jumping.
Though, I must say, the holes that they crawled through weren't as big as the plot holes.

The writing is just terrible now.

No logistics for how the Whisperers operate and survive.
Wouldn't you want an outdoor bathroom to be right near a water source?

And yet, I keep watching. I keep hoping, this will be the episode where they ratchet things up.
The only interesting part is Negan and how he plays this out.

It was fine. Thought it would feel more dramatic. The Carol stuff didn't make much sense. I'm fairly certain there's no way to get the horde out of the bottom of the cave so why risk your life to blow half of them up?

Wouldn't the undead have clothes that are very dry and flammable?
If they had broken off pieces of zombies to use as torches, why not just lob a few zombie torches into the horde?
Once one of them catches, their close proximity should cause all of them to burn.

Now, that would generate a lot of smoke and possibly kill our heroes, but as they were so close to escaping, that certainly seemed like a better idea than using sticks of dynamite. For that matter, why not dump the dynamite into the horde????

Drop me a spoiler & tell me how it ended. The last one I read was when the Pennsylvania people came back & visited Alexandria.
From this point on, from memory, so I may get a few small details wrong...

Negan kills Alpha with next to zero fanfare. Beta refuses the title of “Alpha”, but still assumes leadership of the Whisperers. Basically the Whisperers disappear.

Eugene continues his discussion with the unknown female on the radio. In the comics, we have not met the Commonwealth yet (in the show, it is assumed that Georgine(??) was a rep of the Commonwealth, and on the signpost at Alexandria (??), Commonwealth is listed as a destination), but she ends up being with the Commonwealth. She eventually invites Eugene to bring a small group to the CW, which is the new name for Pittsburgh.

Eugene, Michone, Magna, Yumiko, Siddiq and a few others head to the CW. They discover the CW is 10s of thousands strong and have basically restarted society (apparently). Michone finds her daughter, who she thought had died in the initial outbreak. On the way, they met Princess. She is a young girl who has basically been alone the entire ZA, so she is bonkers (though not necessarily dangerous, though she can defend herself). They meet their leader, Governor Whatshername, and they agree to head to Alexandria to meet with Rick and assess the condition of the DC communities for potential inclusion into the CW.

Someone kills Beta (forget who) and the Whisperers officially end.

Negan returns to Alexandria, and decides to leave. He walks into the sunset, never to be seen again.

Dwight, the new leader of the Saviors, does not want to lead. He begs Rick to allow him to move to Alexandria, but Rick needs him to keep the Saviors in check. As Dwight is away, his wife and a few others basically break ties with Alexandria and essentially declare war. At some point, she attacks rick (who is essentially a cripple at this point) and kills her in self defense. While Dwight is pissed, he knows his wife and understands that she was likely the aggressor, so he takes Ricks side and somewhat calms the waters between the Saviors and Rick.

On the journey to Alexandria, “our guys” find a huge herd and proceed to wipe it out. The Governor and her men disobey “orders” to stay back and cause a break in the line, almost causing some of “our guys” to get eaten. This causes some friction between Michone and the Governess, but they make nice. It is revealed to the reader that she intentionally broke the lines to see how “our guys” would react.

they get to Alexandria and the Gov and Rick meet. They basically debate capitalism (CW) vs socialism (Alexandria) and Rick is suspicious of the CW, but he agrees to go there to check it out.

as they get to Pittsburgh, they witness a riot because of how the CW militia handled some internal issues. Rick makes a big speech calming the tensions and the Gov immediately recognizes him as a threat. Rick later goes into the streets to clean up, causing both the citizens and militia to join in, seeing an old crippled visitor clean up after a riot in a city that wasn’t even his. Rick has essentially won over all the people from the gov.

At some point, Dwight begins rallying dissent in the streets against the gov. Rick is forced to kill him as he begins threatening the Gov. this pisses Rick off since he just killed one of his most trusted lieutenants because the gov has no control over her people, and is acting like a dictator.

the Gov’s son, shown to this point to be a clearly spoiled brat, confronts Rick in his quarters about his “trying to overthrow” his mother. He accidentally shoots and kills rick.

flash forward 30 or 40 years...

Carl and Sophia are married. No mention of Lydia. Michone is essentially the Chief Justice of the CW. Society is back.

Thanks.

Seems a pretty shitty ending.

What do y'all think is the most defining or important moment in the history of the show?

For me... Sophia coming out of the barn.

Killing Glenn and Abraham simultaneously. Glenn pretty much in line with comic. Told me they didn't have much direction for the show beyond the source material so it was that coupled with Kirkman stating he had no plans on length of show that I went from constant to passive viewer.

He recently just randomly announced what caused the outbreak even though the first few seasons were about finding a cure kinda.
