I'm a big fan of Vikings, and it has entire story arcs (so far this season!) where not much happens.
But they've earned enough credit with me to be optimistic that the payoff will be coming.
Ragnar is sick. Floki is tied up. Oldest son is communing with nature. C'mon, make something happen!
But I know that the show will have a payoff that makes wading through these early episodes worth it.
Big ol' spoiler post here of my prediction for the upcoming weeks based on the comics, so I'm going to keep it under the tag. Hopefully the format is okay.
So here's my prediction for the upcoming weeks. We'll probably spend a lot of time figuring out the Carol/Maggie situation. I think they'll both make it out okay, but we'll get a lot more Negan teases, "we are Negan" shit like that. Once Carol and Maggie are safe, I think the group will believe their job is done. Or that it's at least quiet for now. MAYBE this week, but more likely the week after, we are going to catch up with Heath and Tara. I think they are going to take over for the Abraham/Eugene scene in the comics, with Tara or Heath (my guess is Heath) getting an arrow through the eye socket in the return of Dwight, after being followed by his crew leaving the base. Dwight will hold the other person hostage, take them to Alexandria and demand entry. They'll be repealed, like in the comics. I think the show is going to keep our group as optimistic as possible, except for losing (Heath), that they can beat these guys. That will all come crashing down in the finale when we finally meet Negan, and someone meets Lucille. I still haven't decided who will get that fate. Hmmm, "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe"Also, not sure WHERE they'll meet Negan. They already have Jesus. There's probably another original story in there to fill some of the space. Looking forward to it.
Hmmm, hadn't thought about it, but one thing you mention under the spoiler (That doesn't spoil anything) that I can see them doing is a "Morgan-Like" episode with Jesus, just to let us know who this guy is... He certainly has "Major Character" potential, but having not read the comics, I have no idea.
Just my guess as to what will happen in the final 4 eps...Idk, I think they'll save that for later, if ever. He remains pretty mysterious to this point in the comics. I do think they're going to have some original storyline mixed in, what I mentioned above probably only covers 3 episodes, unless they really decide to stretch it out to 4. And the finale is probably an extended one. We'll see, just knowing where this is going to end, I'm curious to see how they'll make 4 episodes out of it.
Just my guess as to what will happen in the final 4 eps...
Ep 13
Will focus on Carol and Maggie and the groups attempts to free them. This should be primarily new material.
Ep 14
Will focus on Heath and Tara. I think this ep will pretty much happen as you spelled out.
Ep 15
Prep for ep 16 and recoup from the events of 13 and 14. The group may still believe that they have already killed Negan. Lots of discussions in Alexandria. Maybe some info exchanged w/ Gregory in Hilltop.
Ep 16 (Finale)
Rick, Michone, Jesus, Abe, Glenn on the road, issue 100 happens. I suspect Abe gets the honors.
And next season will be fucking EPIC!Yeah pretty much. I think Ep. 15 will be pretty calm, maybe a little optimistic. Ep. 16, welcome to the fucking show motherfuckers.
Question for Comic readers...
1) Will we see Shiva? If we do, will she be a tiger, or just a pitbull, or something like that?
2) Now that Michone is with Rick, will Zeke go after Sasha instead? Or will his desire for Michone lead to some friction between the two?
At this point, our group doesn't know it was just an outpost. One of them even asked which of the dead were Negan.
I didn't know that either. I figured maybe he was hiding somewhere inside. I'm really glad you told me, though...
They have been dropping Negan Easter Eggs since AT LEAST mid S4. Remember when Carol and Tyreese got together at the train track saving the father/son from the walkers? There was a dropped Lucille in the carnage of walkers.
Really? I mean, with all the hype he's gotten, the big name actor that they cast for him, all the references, you think they would just kill him off-screen and move on mid-way through a season? C'mon.
I apologize for my outpost comment. That was a minor spoiler, I guess...
(not saying Slinky was upset, but someone could be upset)
