If the show STARTED at this point, I think it would have a high probability of success. A show about re-establishing society in a post ZA world is really intriguing.

However, the show started as a survival epic and built its name on that premise. Now it is completely changing gears into a kind of political drama. I am not sure those two stories appeal to the same people, even if the transition makes total, logical sense.

I think they will face their biggest obstacles in surviving yet. Other people.

I get what yer saying tho

No doubt. That is the point of the show. People are more dangerous than even zombies.

I like the subjects they tackle from this point forward in the comic. I just worry that the change may not translate well, given the following that they have built in the first 5+ seasons being a gore-fest. Moving forward (and very much so for the next episodes) the gore will still be there. But the TRUE drama of the show changes from horror/suspense to political posturing and nation-building.

Ugh. I really didn't think about this, but you are right. Hopefully it will be done well.

Now you've harshed my buzz, man! ;)

Beats wondering whether B-List character Tara is going to lose another lesbian lover... :rip:

Well she does happen to be the closest thing they have to a doctor now with a couple of main characters expecting a baby, so I guess there's that.

I think the show has the potential to get pretty awesome from here on. Whether you liked the Negan arc or not, it's hard to dismiss the notion that he is the most formidable villain yet. Couple that with who he kills en sech...I look forward to seeing how they pull it off.

I thought the governor was better and more interesting. Negan seemed like an offer the top mash up of clichés to me. I do realize one could probably say the same about the governor too.

I really like the society formation and building parts too.

And it would hardly have caused a ripple. Her character did not become epic until S4, when she was teaching the kids weapon safety. That was the beginning of her true arc...

Yeah this. Now you could legitimately argue her versus Daryl for second most indispensable character but at the time Lori was the bigger female lead.

She wasn't awesome until she became an executioner and it was her going Rambo on Terminus that made her.

She is one of my all time fave characters on TV. I am SOOOO glad they rewrote the character for the show.
