was hearing that the Nucks had a similar role in mind for Barker last season (7th or 8th dman for low dollars) until the Oilers swooped in an offered $2.5m for a top 4 role.

that being said... my first reaction when we signed Barker was "at least it's not Vandermeer"
Last scouting reports on him was when he was getting burned by UBC students in Bieksa's charity game.

its a point but Im trying to see where 2 non nhl calibr dmen (barker has an * only for his draft position in that statement) are good depth moves. I dont like either of these signings but I guess its a sign of the new NHL for the future. I dont know Im not liking anything Vancouver is doing. not a thing
