Nothing random about my disdain for Pettidrops. 1st round TE who isn't good at catching passes. Waste or roster and cap space.
Since when isn't Pettigrew good at catching passes? He's got a 70 catch season, an 80 catch season... I'm thinking your perception of the player doesn't match the reality on this one...

If we are throwing passes to Pettidrops....

We are in worse trouble than we thought.

I wouldn't go that far, imo.

Last year, Stafford rarely threw his way. In 2013, Pettigrew saw a 30% decrease in receptions than compared to 2012. Pettigrew also had a near 25% decrease in receptions in 2012 compared to 2011.

Bottom line, Pettigrew was rock solid in 2010, 2011 and to a certain degree 2012. Yes, Stafford may very well have lost confidence in Pettigrew due to his drops but sill the evidence is there he has the potential. You normally don't see TE's fall off cliff like that.

There's lots a variables/reasons as to why we all could make statements about Pettigrew's decline in production.

We all could, so I will.

Joe Lombardi didn't know what the fuck he was doing last year.

Is this a serious question? Since about 3 years ago when he started dropping half the passes thrown to him.

Ahh- so this is just a perception thing. Public opinion and such... got it.

Guess all that brown nosing talk about winning the SB didn't help him.

Maybe he meant the team he ends up with, LOL. Or maybe the fact that all the other playerss are better than him so its a superbowl caliber team.

He did not have a good camp and was very expendable.

You can't really still believe BP doesn't have bad hands, can you?

I mean, you do watch Lions games, right?

He still thinks Suh was the Lions biggest weakness vs the run last year. Can't make this stuff up.

He still thinks Suh was the Lions biggest weakness vs the run last year. Can't make this stuff up.

Did you know -- PRE-AUSTIN -- Here is where Suh finished among the 85 starting defensive tackles against the run:

2010 -- 59th against the run out of 85 DT's
2011 -- 73rd against the run out of 85 DT's
2012 -- 78th against the run out of 85 DT's
2013 -- Couldn't find exact ranking, but it was the 1st year he wasn't a liability against the run
2014 -- Best year by a landslide for him and many players on the Lions defense. His rush defense numbers were off the chart for him.

So it is one of two things -- He evolved as a player or he was playing in a system where it maximized his talents. We will see this year how he does with Miami's scheme and how he fares, as Miami struggled against the run.

In short -- saying Suh was the Lions biggest weakness against the run in 2014 is 100% wrong. His improved play against the run is one of many reasons why the Lions were able to shut teams down.
