Am I wrong in thinking they could/should be a really good team this year?

They are set at QB, their run game is top notch, they have a good o line and pretty good front 7.

Two top 20 picks and a shit ton of cap space. They need secondary and there's nothing but secondary in free agency and the draft. Sign someone and then take secondary again with the 5 pick.

Sign a receiver (B Marsh/Pryor?) and bring in another weapon at 18 (OJ Howard?). Then you round out the team with the rest of the draft/free agency.

If they play their cards right this team should be really good in a winnable division.

Yes- I think they have a chance to make some real noise this year if they addres DB's and WR. The AFC South winner isn't going to be a punchline anymore. If they trade their midround first for Cooks and get Jamal Adams with the top 5 pick- that'd be a very nice haul.

If they draft well then they have a chance to do the whole 'rookie contract QB' contender run for the next 2 years. They need a CB or two and maybe a TE or WR which fits the strength of the draft really well.

Maybe not a team built to ever get a 1 or 2 seed but they'll be a team that plays playoff football.

I'm in line with this thinking as well.

Both TN and Tampa are close...the biggest key imo is the QB play has to continue on an upward path. Remember LY and JAX and OAK were picked as big up and coming teams...OAK got great play from the QB position and delivered...JAX didn't, and didn't.

TN is in a prime position with two 1st rd picks and 4 in the top 100...you don't normally contend with a young players starting, but ATL showed it can be done. Agree with the CB and WR/TE...if will be interesting to see how they go about this FA period and draft.

Is it worth it to trade for Cooks when they could likely just draft Ross at 18?

I think Tenn is closer than Tampa though (with the state of the Bucs running game).

I don't think Ross beats press very well so out of the question for me. It's more of a known quantity vs a prospect. I think it's easy to justify- not sure I'd do it.

If they build on what they did last year, I think they'll be a playoff team. A really strong running attack will keep you in most games and helps mask other deficiencies. They may be the best team in the AFC south.

I think they could do nothing or even get worse and probably win the south at this point.

Big difference in pay scale to go along with that. There's a reason the Saints are looking to trade him.

Right- Cooks wants out of NO- not because NO doesn't want to pay him. Cooks would have two cheapish years which is right in line with Mariota. It's very much so a win now move to try to win a SB while the QB is not earning 25-30M AAV

I agree, no question TN has a better running game, but that can be fixed rather quickly. Tampa also has a bonfide star in the making in Evans at WR. I give TN the edge because they have a young developing OL. Tampa is more patch work imo. At the end of the day, I think we'll have to see what DEF takes that next step but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see either team in the playoffs next yr.

I'd agree with this. Tennessee needs a CB and thats kind of it.

Tampa is pretty much the Evans show right now and he needs help on offense from other WRs and a running game.

I like them as well, think they could be a favorite in that division next year. 2 top 20 picks could help shore up some holes. I like them to get a receiver for Mariota with 1 of those picks.

I have the Titans winning that division easily. They have two 1st round picks, one of which is extremely early. They had IMO the BEST offseason of anyone, adding serious depth to a HUGE problem (secondary). PFF had the Titans ranked #1 in OL (yes even above Dallas) due to outstanding play from rookie Conklin.. and Henry seems decent and the Titans can even grab another RB with their 3rd or so in an extremely deep draft.

Titans need... secondary, RB (insurance), and tight end. OH WOW, coincidence that this draft is LOADED with JUST those positions?

If the Titans don't win that cupcake division (might not be so cupcake anymore with the Titans) it's a SERIOUS bust IMO.

I also thought Mariota would be a bust and so far I am wrong on that.

They definitely need another WR as well.
