Lovie Smith won't be fired because Virginia McCaskey is an old hack.

I've always been a Lovie supporter. He had the highest winning % of any Bears coach since Halas retired and I thought the guys played hard for him. A lot of people didn't like him because he wasn't a red ass on the sideline, which I thought as asinine.

That being said, he never got the Offense going since he was there. His brand of football (defense and special teams) isn't going to work with the way the NFL wants to market itself. A great defensive mind, he will have a job next season as at least D coordinator if he wants it.

^^^Bears OL was sub-par this year. They have some good skill players.

Chan Gailey got the ax in Buffalo. He just couldn't find a way to make his players more talented.

The O-line has been sub-par for 4 years now. Martz seemed to have found a way around last season until Cutler and Forte both went down. It was the best the offense had looked since Grossman's MIRACLE start to the 2006 season. I don't understand why Martz was let go. I feel it ultimately cost Lovie his job.

Edit: Best win % since Ditka.

I read the list wrong.
