I'll be honest, I am kinda tired of it.........and it doesn't seem like something that I'm used to Husker fans doing. Since the end of last season though, I have heard more and more people bashing the kid for his attitude and drama from last season.........saying they wish he'd just get the fuck outta here and all this other garbage.

That doesn't remind me of the Husker fans of old. Don't forget that the kid was a teenager last year, with a daddy at his side who probably was the cause for all that drama. Don't forget Bo Pelini is a fucking man among men, and I'll bet you over the offseason he had a nice little talk with the kid and let him know none of this drama will be occurring this upcoming season.

Aren't any of you rooting for the kid to grow up and change his attitude? Doesn't anyone like to see a kid turn into a man and lead a team to championships? I like Brion Carnes just as much as the next guy, but I don't give a shit if Bo Pelini's dog ends up QBing this team to a championship......whoever wears a Husker helmet, they get my support. And Taylor Martinez took all the bashing that he got and continues to receive, and he stayed here because as he said, he wants to win championships at Nebraska. I like him.

You want to know my problem with Taylor?

Do I like to see young men grow up and win championships? Yes, but I also didn't loose any sleep over Cody Green's transfer because niether him nor Taylor are championship-caliber QBs in my OPINION. Martinez is a great athlete, he demonstrated that last year. Unfortunately, he demonstrated a few other things:

A. He throws like a girl, yeah I remember the okie st game, but the longer the season went on, the more that game seemed to be an anomaly for both Watson and Taylor. And from what I saw in spring practice he doesnt seem to have improved much if at all(I didnt see every practice)

B. Poor attitude, it's easy to say "ok everything is all better now" but until the shit hits the fan (conference play 2011) we have no idea if his mind is in the right place

C. His reads sucked to put it mildly, if his #1 guy was covered he tried to beat the entire defense to the corner...in other words he had ZERO pocket presence, and once again I haven't noticed much imrovement this spring(from what i have seen)

D. He is injury-prone, his style of play alone makes him very vulnerable, look at Michael Vick who has mastered the art of being a speedy QB--he is constantly taking big shots and suffers a significant injury almost every season

Bottom line: I trust BO and CO and I'll live with whoever they think is ready to start. Im not out to bash anyone, if I saw Martinez on the street today I would still give him a pat on the back, but I have absolutely no problem voicing my discontent with him or any player/coach for that matter...I almost feel like it is my right considering how much money i've spent at that university. I just hope that my discontent is never mistaken for contempt because that would certainly be uncalled-for.

Of course people are bashing Taylor. We all expect our QBs to be TE next Frazier or Young right Brasky? At least that is what you tried to justify to me yesterday. And when our QBs aren't the next Frazier and Young right away we deserve to bash them.

BTW, you have defended and liked Taylor even before he signed at Nebraska? Oh boy, not sure I would have admitted that out loud.

I was just saying that's the way it is around here. I don't have to like it. And as for liking Taylor as a QB, yes. I was one of the first to say he would be playing qb and doing it well, shall I dig up the plorsts from disney?

I guess my main point though is............how do we really know what kind of attitude Taylor actually has? What, just because we saw Bo Pelini rip him out on the sideline during the A&M game? Now we know he is a pussy bitch no good lazy punk?

Never have we seen anything on TV that demonstrates the things that we have simply "heard" from "reliable sources." That is the point I am trying to make. We are bashing the kid for having a bad attitude based on some shit we've heard...........I'll believe it when I see it.

Bo wouldn't have kept playing him last year if he had as bad of an attitude as people like to make it sound. None of us fans really know what's going on in practice or in the locker room, so it's just dumb to pretend like we do.

In general I don't like the position we are in at QB, I have no idea why the coaches decided he was our best chance to win while still being terribly injured. I'm not an insider so I guess I am ignorant on why Bo stayed with him through to the end, however I wouldn't exactly call it the best decision Ive ever seen. I give the kid credit for playing still in spite of everything, he did what he was told to do. I just always expect a better outcome.

I question the coaches on making the decision to start Taylor when he was injured as well.......and I am completely making an assumption when I say this, but I wonder if having a different offenisve coordinator would have made a difference. In the end, Bo makes the decision to start Taylor.........but he always said Watson had a big say in the matter.

In my opinion they just never had any confidence whatsoever in Cody Green.

I know it is funny..........but Pelini really believed in Watson's ability to coach an offense

I don't agree with the bashing.....I just think there were better qb's (cody green) than him on the team....

If he is playing I will root for him of course to do well, if he continues to make the same mistakes over and over then I'm going to be taking my profaneness to new heights, it has little to do with Martinez, the person, but rather anyone in the same position making the same mistakes continuously

I just plain don't think Cody was ever the right fit at Nebraska. He probably should have been playing instead of Taylor there at the end of the season when Taylor was injured, but I really think a healthy Taylor Martinez was the best option we had last year.

In all fairness Taylor was putting up some fucking ridiculous numbers before he was injured. It must have been horrible for Green to sit on the sidelines, healthy, and watch Taylor gimp around getting stomped, but still not be called on to go in and give his team a chance to win. I really feel bad for Cody and wish the best for him wherever he ends up.
