Russell Wilson is the #5 QB in the league.

Say that out loud and realize how stupid that sounds. This happened for the exact same reason that Russell Wilson beat out Peyton Manning in the bracketology thing on NFL.

Now before you bash me, just know that I think I'm higher on Wilson than most non-Seahawk fans. I think he's an excellent young quarterback and I'd definitely say that he's one of the better QB's in the league. Furthermore, as much as it pains me to say it, I think he's significantly better than Kaepernick right now. But #5?!?! That's just stupid.

MHSL, I'm not sure exactly what you were intending to accomplish with this poll idea, but I think it may have just been greatly skewed by homer bias and imo, it's no longer credible. Good luck with this, but I'm not going to be contributing anymore.

I dont wanna play any more, Seahawk fans are cheating! Wahh!

This is about foresight, not hindsight. And if you really follow and appreciate Wilson as much as you claim, then I dont see how you cannot say that he is on his way to being a top QB. Kid's got it all and has taken big steps throughout his first two years. I dont see what's so crazy about expecting that to continue.

If no one votes, I'll just put my own ranking and they will be the winner. Just kidding.

Don't put words in my mouth. I don't think you're cheating. I just think you're extremely biased. Is it so much of a stretch to say that Seahawk fans are pumping their own guy higher than he should be?

Of course I agree that Wilson is on his way to being a top QB. He's young and loaded with potential as well as the intangibles. But this foresight is about THIS year. And RIGHT NOW, I don't see how anyone who isn't a biased homer can say that Russell Wilson is the 5th best QB in the league.

Third year is generally the biggest step. Dont be surprised when at the end of the year he's on a lot of top 5 lists.

This is for next season dingleberry. After next year we'll see how right this poll is.

I'm guessing Wilson will be closer to my ranking of him than yours.

I was clearly talking about this next season too.

Where exactly did you rank him? You're one of the 8, aren't you? Would you have put him even higher if the option was available?

Well we don't need the butt hurt idiots who don't understand the nature of these kinds of polls to identify themselves.

Yea you already totally nailed me with that zinger. Ouch.

Do you really want to get into this? Of course I understand the nature of these polls. ("This happened for the exact same reason that Russell Wilson beat out Peyton Manning in the bracketology thing on NFL.") They're clearly driven on bias and it was just a matter of time before some stupid result came through. And in my personal opinion, the stupid result was at #5.

Sorry for having an opinion when there's nothing better to talk about pre-draft.

Laugh all you want. The truth is some of the best QBs for the last decades are getting to be old dogs. Just as a example lets take Tom Brady, he just had one of his poorest season ever and he's going to be 37 in August, so is really out of the question for posters to feel he may be on the down slide? Some of these young QBs are going to be lead dogs very soon...next year is not out of the question. Mmmmm I bet if your QB was in the conversation you would be singing a different tune here.

If you understand it, then why carry on about it like a 2 y/o? Most of us said up front there was no way this was going to be some non biased accurate representation of the national consensus. It's done for fun knowing full well that people are going to share their opinions and that those opinions are going to vary widely and be heavily influenced by their own biases.

I thought you said you were so upset by this that you weren't going to vote anymore? At what point will you then stop bitching over the results thus far? We don't seem to have reached that plateau yet.

Perhaps I didn't know how to word it or it's open to interpretation. My goal was to get a ranking of how players are right now. However, I don't think there was a way to word it so that it wasn't potential, unless one thinks that the potential will be realized this year. I was aiming for the beginning of the year, but obviously this year includes the end of this year. So if it takes that long to get to where one thinks the players are, they can have a big jump.

I guess I was trying to say that if you were a GM of a team with average talent at every position but QB, when the league was only going to exist for one more year, who you would select. This is so that one does not select a young guy over the older guy because of the number of years left in his career. Age should only be a factor if that age affects the capabilities of a quarterback. I was trying to say right now who is best. People have interpreted that as how good they will be and that's a fair interpretation. If I were a GM, I would factor what I thought would happen. If I thought improvement would happen, that's what I would do. However, of course, that means people will think there will be a big jump.

Some people are just always behind whats actually going on. They're called suckers and they are the reason that Vegas takes bets on sports.

I had the option of making the polls public but I felt that some people would not vote if it was a public poll. They have their biases and having their name under the vote might feel that it would appear they were voting only on bias. So if a Seahawks fan really thought that he was number five on the list and the poll was public, then maybe he won't vote because he thinks that people will just see him as a homer. Most people don't care and they will just vote and try to back it up, but I was trying to get everyone possible.

Read the parameters for the voting. Not talking about longevity and ignoring surrounding talent (clearly Brady's lack of weapons were an issue last year)

Of course guys like him and Peyton can't keep this up forever. But right now, I'd say that Tom Brady is a better QB than Wilson and I'm not sure how anyone else can dispute that. To be honest, I'm shocked that you even brought this up. I mean...Tom Brady is better than Russell Wilson (right now)...he just is. If there was one thing I would hope that (objective) football fans can agree on, it's that Tom Brady is better than Russell Wilson (right now).

Now if I was starting a franchise right now, I would definitely want a younger guy like Wilson, but that's not what this is about.

Kaep was available to vote for at #4 and nobody (including me) voted for him.
