Our previous poll ended with Tom Brady (8) beating out Manning (6). Since this is my resident board (not the General Board), I thought I would speed things up a little bit.

To make it faster by one poll, I'm declaring Peyton Manning as the third best QB. Let me know if you object.

I know as the third poll, this seems long. You don't need to be in it for the long haul, just vote when you can. The offseason is long and I will space it out. There will come a time where it doesn't matter so I will group, but we'll go as far as we can.

Question: Who is the fourth best QB in the league?

Here are the parameters:

This is just for this coming year. Age can matter as far as current abilities and experience, etc., but don't choose a young QB over Peyton Manning because so and so is younger and can offer more years. Just base it upon who they are now. If younger means better, sure. Otherwise, it's irrelevant.

Assume that each QB is in the optimal system with an equal level of talent around them and coaching. If the current QB of a team does not fit in their current system or on a bad team, imagine them in the right system and average team.

This time, I just put who I think people would have in the next 12 - not my personal next 12. Make sense? If there are any clear trends, I will do the same as this time (declare the next). If people now vote for the fifth to influence that - that will turn into the fourth, right? Please just vote for who you think is fourth.

There weren't many "Others" votes and if Tom shouldn't be second, and one did not think Manning was third, "Other" should have been the option selected. (For example, if the choices were Geno Smith, Matt Ryan or "Other" - one would not pick the Geno as second best if they didn't believe Ryan was - they'd pick, "Other.") Brees was shut out, so there you go.

As for the order of the poll: I put everyone who has won a Super Bowl first. Put Brees ahead of Manning despite Manning having 2. Then I put postseason successful QBs and then the rest. I used Jaworski's rankings for the most part but removed Schaub and forgot Ryan.

Don't think Schaub or Ryan matters for this poll. Will put Ryan back next. Unless a mod can change that.

LMAO at you saying Rivers is top 3. He is barely even top 10 and he is no better than Tony Romo. I myself actually have Romo just ahead of Rivers.

My top 10 list:
#1 Brady
#2 Peyton
#3 Rodgers
#4 Brees
#5 Big Ben
#6 Eli
#7 Flacco
#8 Wilson
#9 Romo
#10 Rivers

In my book you have to rank SB winning QBs over QBs who haven't won. For me Kaep is in the 11-15 range and has a chance to make my top 10 but he isn't there yet.

I have Brees at #4. #5 through #10 could be interchangeable depending on one's opinion. I have Kap just outside the top 10.

I was going to do that, but then thought the names were Flacco, Wilson, Eli, Brees, and Rothlisberger. I didn't want to put too few names, especially if no one here would vote for Wilson and Flacco and Manning makes us upset. Those aren't the top 8 per se, IMO.

Luck is a good young QB and he might win a SB but I can't put him ahead of a SB winner until he wins one himself. It's not like Flacco was Trent Dilfer or anything. Flacco was a beast in that whole SB run throwing no INTs.

I like the Super Bowl idea but if we are talking about right now, talent alone I have Kap in my top 10. If we are going by career then yes Kap outside the top 10 behind the Super Bowl winners. I would even put wilson ahead of Kap because of Super Bowl even though he didn't do much.

Flacco had Wilson-esque "Chuck it up there and someone will catch it" luck during that run.

There's no way he plays the QB position better than Luck. That's pure lunacy dawg.

Luck is a good QB and I think he will be an elite QB with Kap, Cam, Wilson, etc. when QBs like Brady, Peyton and Brees retire. Luck is still young and has a lot to learn. I mean the dude threw 7 INTs in 2 playoff games last year.

So it's not about who is the better QB, it's about cherry picking small samples to try and prove your point?

Because Flacco had better stats in 4 specific games than Luck did in 2 specific games that makes him better?

I see you are a disciple of the Purguy school of QB evaluation. Unadulterated lunacy.

Not counting last year Flacco had made the playoffs every year in his 5 year career. In those 5 years he made the AFC championship game 3 times and has won 1 SB. Yes a big part of that was cuz Ravens had a good D but also Flacco has played good to even great. I do think Luck will be better than Flacco at some point in his career but thats not right now.

Gold he doesn't like stats. He just looks at the Name on the jersey. Its easy to see but he just doesn't get it.
