Much to the chagrin of Niners fans, I am putting Wilson as an option in the next poll. Haven't decided on Eli Manning yet. Probably will because he's won two. That outweighs his bad seasons. Plus, we do have 12 possible options on the poll. Yes, he will be on the next poll, but if you don't feel that he is third, don't vote for him.

My intention was to add SB winners next round - and SB runner ups the next and the AFC/NFC past runnerups. There might be some who screw that intention up - like Matt Stafford, Romo, Cutler, etc. They never really had much success in postseason and to leave them off for a long time would not likely be representative of how people feel.

Teams really do make the grade, not the quarterback. Some people have said that the defense won the Super Bowl this year, but when you win the Super Bowl, I can't leave you off the top ten without really good justification. If people feel that a Super Bowl winner does not deserve to be in the top 10, they can just continue not to vote for them.

That's when the true bias will show. There's no way to quantify the actual vote in an unbiased manner. There are plenty of Seahawk fans here so there vote will definitely be seen.

My vote goes to Tom Brady again, and for the same reasons: most consistent in the regular and postseason season.

Peyton and Brady are getting older, but I still see them as the best quarterbacks to advance to the SB.

I voted Rodgers #1 and Manning #2, and I can back that up in a debate. I will be voting for Wilson for #3 spot, and I can back that up too. It doesnt make me an unreasonable homer, I think when we are talking about prejections Wilson has a strong argument for next year.

But I don't think we are talking projection, we are talking about their current status. No matter the success Wilson has had thus far; I don't think any reasonable/rational person (or state of mind) would have him as the 3rd best QB in the league. The Chiefs started out like what, 9-0? Did anybody really consider them a Super Bowl contender? Bias plays a huge role in most peoples selections.

The question was who do you think will be the best in the league next year. That's not looking at anything other than pure speculation on projected performance. That could include what you expect to be around them as well as what impact age or experience might add.

If he believes Wilson will be the 3rd best QB in football NEXT YEAR then that's what he believes.

As for base bias, there are at least 10x the number of 49'er fans on this site than Seahawk, however there is likely to be more Seahawk fans voting as many 9'er fans never leave their own board and many are not here much this off season. It's no shock that our fans are here as we are still on the high of winning it all. 9'er fans probably want to spend as little time thinking about it as possible until the clean slate of a new season is on the horizon.

As for where I'd put Wilson on next year's list? I really haven't given it enough thought and honestly I'd have to really look at the stats of a few others in that 3rd - 6th range. I'd probably still have my top 3 as Rodgers, Manning, and Brady in a more or less interchangeable order and then everyone else. The 4th place that seems to be the favorite pick of the OP (brees) is not above Wilson IMO at this point and time, but that is purely based off the games I watched of him against good defenses including twice losing to us. I didn't think he played well in those, or a couple of other of the more decent games they played.

But I will not be voting for Wilson 3rd.

The other thread had in its parameters that this was for projection for next year. With his rate of development, I could make a great case for taking him over anyone not named Peyton or Aaron.

Not a fan of Brees. I feel he whines too much to the media. But I did think he was a consensus top 4 QB as he is always mentioned among the elites. However, I assume another year of first or second round exits would put pressure upon him.

What if Brett Favre didn't throw that INT to force OT? What if the Vikings won the coin toss? That wouldn't have made Brees a better or worse player (as it had no effect by him), but what would we say of Brees? I'm sure he'd be ahead of Stafford and other big yardage QBs, but below elite? I'm not saying. Also, I know, what ifs don't count. He did win that NFCC game, but had he lost it like I said, it would have been after his contributions for the most part outside of OT. He also then did win the big game - just saying what we saw wouldn't have been seen if something that had nothing to do with him (Brett's blunder) hadn't happened - what would we think of him.

I also thought just having Brady and Manning was too short of list.

Yep, not saying you would have the numbers in a national poll, but that's what Wilson earned - to be in the discussion - I would not list a QB without a ring before him as an option - then vote as you may.

MHSL, I get why you have Brees up where you do and I'm not questioning it. I'm sure most average fans would put Brees above Wilson or any of the other so-called second tier of QB's. He's a bonafide HOF QB with a great tool set.

He is worthy of being on anyone's top 5 list of potentials to pick from. That none are picking him top two really doesn't mean they won't pick him 3rd or 4th.

IMO at 35 he is on the decline. I mean he is still better than at least 25 other starting QB's in the league, but I wouldn't have him at 4. I'll still be shocked if he doesn't get 4th in your poll or 5th at worst just because of name and previous reputation alone.

It's a tough call. I think Peyton is the best behind a good line. After the Super Bowl, I'm convinced Russell Wilson is better behind a subpar line. Brady would normally be in the discussion, but he had major accuracy issues last year. I picked Russell because I think the tie should go to the guy who won the Super Bowl.

How much does the constant reminder that Wilson and Seattle won the SB all off season and all of the overreaction to it just grind your gears? This has to be one of the worst off seasons your fans have ever had no?

Not for me. My hatred of the Cowboys and Packers of the 90's far exceeds whatever hatred I may have for SEA.

We need a tie breaker, so if you haven't voted, vote! Still, your choice in who - it doesn't have to be Brady or Manning (or the unpopular Brees).

You can't say he's unpopular, I mean he'll get votes on the third or fourth poll man.... Unless other is listed again and votes go for Kap and Wilson again....

I felt that if I just said,"You don't have to vote for Brady or Manning" someone could take that as me lobbying for Brees, something someone already thought I wanted.

My "other" vote went to Wilson. I think he'll have his best year yet with Harvin fully healthy. Disagree if you like.
