I don’t know. It should be to make the league’s best record to be the automatic Finals winner.

That flop AFTER he got ejected was the epitome of soft. I don't think Shaq, Karl, or Charles would drop like that EVER. Where is your dignity Rudy? Are you a tough big man or a bitch? Nothing more Frenchy that falling over like a charlatan.

Yep. I also don’t like that:

1. People can get injured on flops. Sit the hell down out of the way.
2. Players can get suspended if a fight breaks out.
3. For being where he was, they could have given him a technical foul. No player not on the court should ever cost us points. Exception is to really defend a teammate or a coach trying to get their players to “wake up.” Without Forrest’s T, maybe Anderson/Brooks doesn’t spark the big second quarter? We were down by 1 with 24.2 seconds to go or so. What if we lost by one with a T to Gobert?
4. Looks weak, for a player known for complaining, not well liked in the league. Use that to intimidate or throw off guard or motivate, not to flop.

The flop looks even worse, when I watch it again.

I don’t mean to diminish the accomplishment, but really? This is the first time this is ever happened in NBA history? Seems hard to believe.

I picked a random Chamberlain season, and he had at least 28 points and at last 23 rebounds in his first six games:

That’s what I thought. I thought that he or Bill Russell would easily have surpassed Gobert’s numbers this year. So I don’t understand what they are looking at.

Stupid trade talks. The second we trade Gobert, we will be looking for someone who can play defense and shoot a high percentage because some genius who wants to trade Gobert because he doesn’t stretch the floor will say we don’t need an offensive player. In other words, we will get rid of the player we will eventually need due to a weakness we perceive now that we will state was outweighed by the benefits that we did not need.

The only reason to trade Gobert is if the trade is so maximized and he’ll walk soon. I guess I don’t have confidence in the draft, think we will always get developing players who are not being whatever we need. And then when we hit on special players, we think about trading them. But we have him under contract. If Gobert pouts and sits, I say damn the team losing value, keep him here for nothing, like I thought about Harden, Simmons, and NFL’s Watson.

One thing I've always liked about Gobert is his health.

82 games, 2014-2015

81, 2016-2017 (Missed March 11)

81, 2018-2019

68, 2019-2020 (actually missed 4 games, 2 around Thanksgiving, 2 in the bubble).

71, 2020-2021 (April 17)

4 out of 9 very healthy seasons. 4 out of 8 if you want to discount his rookie year, since he wasn't an everyday player yet.

We can‘t have two special career players, maybe that’s the whole NBA, as players now leave when they can’t win. (Not saying this about Gobert, I’m just saying that even when not traded few players will stick with one team.) By the way, I am excusing Malone’s one year as a Laker, substantially speaking.

Not certain that we are keeping Pat Beverley, but if we are, I guess the guy opponent’s fans root against becomes our guy. I like that better than being bugged by him. He is our Ingles now?

It wasn't Gobert's choice. Ainge wants to rebuild.
