Nothing against Flacco in all honesty. Can't take away what he did, but just be honest with yourself. He's not a great QB. He has great arm talent, but he just makes some insane decisions sometimes. He's been in the league long enough to where that kind thing shouldn't be happening hardly ever, but it has been happening often still.

That's pure speculation and nothing more.

Many people think Matt Ryan is a good QB (as do I), but it took probably the league's best receiving corps and 5th best scoring defense for him to finally get his first playoff victory. That's all he got though.

Here you go again talking about the playoffs. Look. The greatest QB of all time has a losing playoff record. Playoff records and stats are meaningless when it comes to knowing how good a player is. All that shows is who got lucky and won on those days.

In all honesty...you can put Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco all in the same category. I'm not sure what you want to call that category, but as a fan...you are happy to have one of them on your team.

With all due respect, this sounds like it's coming from a fan who is not used to seeing his team in the playoffs. I sense a Dan Marino reference coming very soon.

Dan Marino carried crap teams too, but I was talking about Peyton in that post.

This season, I wouldn't be happy with the way they are playing. Ben is the only one I would give the benefit of the doubt too, because their O line is just a bunch of random people they found on the sidewalk. But honestly, all 3 have been horrible.

Wtf. What's going on with them? I understand that they have given everything to Flacco now and its his team, but you'd think they would still want to establish a ground game. I'm confused

You don't make Flacco the highest paid player in the NFL to run the ball.... :laugh3:

Marino threw 5 twice. A 44-30 loss to the NY Jets in 1988 and a 20-0 shutout by the Dallas Cowboys in 1999.

I know I know I'm just baiting him  Everyone has bad games.

Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Brees.....A lot of names in contention for #5. Right now, it could be Romo. Call me crazy, but he's been lighting it up so far this season.

Brees was left out for a reason. Romo isn't top 10, and probably isn't top half.

I said right now. Romo is completing 72% for 8 TDs and 1 INT.

It's astonishing to me how many people simply can't grasp the concept of NFL contracts and guaranteed money. The 6 QB contracts this summer:

Rodgers - $54mil guaranteed
Ryan - $42mil guaranteed
Romo - $40mil guaranteed
Stafford - $33.5mil guaranteed
Brady - $33mil guaranteed
Flacco - $29mil guaranteed

Yep...he's the highest paid player in the NFL :laugh3:

Yeah, but Dan Marino Didn't sign one of the largest contracts in the history of the game the year before either of those games. He was making about 1.4 million a year too.

Well to be fair 3 of the 5 INT were just great plays by the defense and not really a bad decision by Flacco.

Back in 1991, Marino was the highest paid player in the NFL with a contract worth $23 million guaranteed. 22 years later, Flacco signed a contract with a whole $6 million more in guaranteed money. Only one of the two signed the contract after being named Super Bowl MVP.

flacco is taking home 35 million dollars this year...... At the time he signed his contract, in its entirety, it made him the highest paid player in the history of the game...

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens reach agreement, according to source - ESPN

whether he is the actually the highest paid or not at this very point he is up there. So the point remains... Your "super bowl winning" QB is grossly overpaid. Because he isn't even close to the talent of the QB's in his payscale. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, are all exceptional QB's. Flacco is very mediocre.

does him being the 4th highest paid player make those 5 int's hurt any less?
