No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
We continue down this "rebuilding" road with one eye on the farm and one eye on the Rangers.
Joe Palumbo fans 8 in season debut
Joe Palumbo, Frisco Roughrider and one of the Texas Rangers top pitching prospects, made his 2019 debut this afternoon in Frisco. Palumbo struck out 8 of the 19 batters he faced while walking 3 and allowing 2 hits, including a home run, in 4.2 IP. Palumbo allowed one run, and threw 87 pitches.
Palumbo may have the best shot of any of the Rangers upper level pitching prospects of staying in the rotation, due to having three pitches that project as average or better. The questions about him mainly have to do with his durability, due to his small stature and having Tommy John surgery under his belt. He’s on the 40 man roster, and should be in Arlington at some point this season.
Meanwhile, Leody Taveras went 1 for 4 today for Down East, giving him a .563 batting average and a 1313 OPS, while Chris Seise went 2 for 5 for Hickory, giving him a 1482 OPS. Those are two of the Rangers best position prospects, and they have a lot of upside...they’ve gotten off to red-hot starts to the season, and will be worth watching in the coming days to see if they keep producing.
And he gets a base hit. Now up to .120. Had to be a relief to him for now.Not sure if you all have been keeping up with Profar but at this moment he has just made his 3rd and 4th error for the season and is hitting .102. He is really having a tough time.
Would like to have him back on 2B.And he gets a base hit. Now up to .120. Had to be a relief to him for now.
Thanks for letting us in on it.Not sure if you all have been keeping up with Profar but at this moment he has just made his 3rd and 4th error for the season and is hitting .102. He is really having a tough time.

What about 2B?Seise might definitely be a candidate for a 3B job someday, don't see him sticking at SS though
He wiil be a free agent in a little over a year and a half.Would like to have him back on 2B.
He has been able to hit for a decent average in the minors. But so did Odor. I just hope Odor gets out of his funk.Eli White with a double tonight to raise his average up to .375. Watch out Roogie.

No one is whining about Profar. Expressing a need for a 2b and just about any one would do.Really counterproductive to keep whining over Profar at this point. Especially since we scored a couple promising prospects in a time we are rebuilding.
Time will tell if Odor can become a hitter as opposed to a slugger. He looked like he made real progress in the spring with lots of oppos hits but yes he has regressed.
Splitting hairs about options to me is not the route. But who knows. If you are a buy in to Woody then you begin again and trust the process
