They made a huge ruckus in the offseason but many people are selling them short.

I think Doc brings a much needed attitude adjustment to the Clippers. How can a team share a court for years and not give a shit they have to look at their cross town foe's banners at every home game and practice? It is the same thing as if the Lakers brought their banners to be hung up every time they played in Boston. That should have pissed off the Clippers a long time ago and every coach, GM and owner who did not object to those banners being hung is a giant failbag.

Before I started writing this I was liking them a lot because they had a little playoff success last year and made a huge coach upgrade. Looking at them on paper though I am seeing HOF talent, always gets a pass CP3 (more on that later*) and his overrated supporting cast because of CP3. Doc is not going to fix that.

Doc is going to change the attitude though. That will not get them through the playoffs though. IMO they need to overhaul this team. Find a way to move Griffin for something close to him at PF and some outside help for CP3. He is greatly overvalued so his return will be the best for his worth and come the playoffs you will want somebody better on D and can hit a FT.

*Yes CP3 always gets a pass like nobody else has, but I liken him to Iverson and the 00-01 76ers on every team he has been a part of. He is a great star who makes every one around him better, but you can only put so much sugar on shit, it is still going to be shit.

I see them losing to Brooklyn in the finals.

C) Deandre Jordan, Byron Mullens, Ryan Hollins
PF) Blake Griffin
SF) Jared Dudley, Matt Barnes
SG) JJ Redick, Jamal Crawford
PG) Chris Paul, Darren Collison

I am missing a few pieces here obviously but Doc Rivers teams are known for execution on both ends of the floor in the halfcourt. This team will do that. They will score and defend more efficiently. Chris Paul will have an MVP-caliber season.

Word.

I just see CP3 with a lot of overrated players because of CP3. If they come out of the west I like them over the Nets and Bulls but not heat or Pacers.

Clippers might not dominate in the regular season but I think Doc's teams are more built for the playoffs - Celtics never really dominated in the regular season, but they turned it on in the playoffs

Since the arrival of CP3 they have been to the playoffs twice in 3 years, won 1 series (not last year) and a grand total of 6 games.

I do not think we need to discuss before CP3 got there as griffin never made the playoffs with out him and I would not call that success or turning it on in the playoffs.

I do agree that the Clippers is made for the playoffs and so is Doc's coaching scheme's and style, a lot of that was due to coaching aged veterans though. We will see if he tailors he tactics to a younger Clippers team where he can play them longer for the regular season.

The biggest question for the Clippers will be how well they buy into Doc's demands that they play defense. His Celtics teams were among the best defensive teams in the league and it's how they won their games, including their championship.

The Clips have been more offense oriented. If they buy in to Doc's approach and add some solid defense to their offense, they will be very, very dangerous.

Earth Calling Brooklyn Fans!

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry are ALL past their primes.

Pierce and Garnett have accepted that fact and are making adjustments for their lessened abilities. Jason Terry,
as near as this Celtics fan can see, has not. He is now a LIABILITY in crunch time because of his poor shot selection and only sporadic defense.

No Finals trip for the Nets this year. Clippers have a shot because of River's coaching, but not Brooklyn.
