He's not supposed to have the tools, just a product of Briles's system...but he's clearly the best QB on the Jets roster

Maybe it's just my memory, but he was all tools out of college which is why he got drafted where he did.

Well he was a 4th rounder, quite a lot of teams had multiple chances to take him and said "nah." I recall the talk about him back then was that he couldn't run the pro-style offense.

Lucky for him, the Jets don't exactly run a pro-style offense, either

Sure, but that's where a lot of those all tools/no substance guys go. Mahomes is kind of like Petty as a prospect but with even better tools in my opinion if we're drawing vague analogies.
