Should have taken him at 7. It's a ten year old mistake, but we've sucked ass the whole time since.

Man, I was so pumped after that draft. Konecny was my guy. Thought he warranted consideration at 7 even. I liked the Provorov pick, but when they traded up and picked TK I was PUMPED. Adding those guys to Sanheim, Morin, Hagg, Ghost, and Laughton. Add that to the existing roster with Giroux, Simmonds, Voracek, Couturier, and Brayden Schenn. I thought they had a serious cup contender built and just waiting for a little development.

And then it all came crashing down.. Haven't been that optimistic about the Flyers since. Crazy that was 10 years ago.

This is for Awaz he loves this guy and will be so happy when he is our coach!! :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound:

Jordan Hall, congrats on your new status as public enemy #1! :lm:

Let's break down "why he would be a fit"
- Coached a ton of the younger players and prospects. Which aside from the 3 listed, all fell short of expectations.

- Knows the Flyers. Ok? Every die-hard fan checks this box. Let's get one of us in there!

- Best season as head coach. They are on a bit of a roll right now, which is awesome. But they were 36-34 this year. So let's not get too carried away.

- Made the playoffs in 3 of 4 seasons. 6 teams out of 8 make the playoffs in their division. So.. congrats on staying out of the bottom in 3 of 4 seasons?

Get outta here Jordan.

If we beat the Bears tonight and eliminate them, it will be a massive upset. They are the 2x defending champs and were 2nd in the Ahl this season with 44 wins and 96 points.

6-4 Bears. The deciding game 5 is Sunday at 5 pm at Hershey. That should be about as good as it gets in the Ahl. I'll be down in Nags Head, NC for the next week. Hopefully we can close them out, but it seems like a real challenge now.

O'Brien creeping up my list of preferences. May actually be my guy right now. Assuming Misa and Schaeffer will be gone for sure, seems like it could go in just about any order from 3-7ish.

Summarized version (skipping Eklund becuase another TK is probably not worth this pick, given they already have TK)

Misa - Great skater, great offensive IQ. Not a world class shot, not very physical, could end up on the wing.

Martone - Physical and highly skilled, but skating concerns

Desnoyers - Complete two-way player. Nothing elite.

Hagens - Elite offense/skating, small and not physical. Could end up on the wing.

Frondell - Solid two-way player, but not a lot of offense other than a good shot.

O'Brien - High end playmaker, good size. Shot is lacking.

McQueen - Big/physical, good skater, good skills. Injury concerns.

Martin - Mean, gets to the net. Decent skill. Not overly big and skills may not be high level NHL skills.

This could be a sold number 2 center:

Trade: Edmonton First-Round Pick, Philadelphia Second-Round Pick for Marco Rossi

Rumors have been flying around the Minnesota Wild’s Marco Rossi for some time now. Those talks got sparked again following the team’s first-round exit to the Vegas Golden Knights, where the 23-year-old center was demoted to fourth-line minutes for the entire series. This was despite a promising regular season in which he accumulated 24 goals and 36 assists for a career-high 60 points in 82 games.

Though Rossi himself didn’t badmouth the team for gashing his ice time, it seems like the writing’s on the wall. A restricted free agent this summer, the 2025 NHL Draft is a likely time for him to get dealt, if at all. With an abundance of draft capital, the Flyers can accommodate a Wild club without a top-50 pick in this class. In this case, Minnesota gets two of them: a first-round pick via the Oilers and the Flyers’ own 36th-overall selection.

Perhaps the Wild are bigger fans of an NHL-ready player, but a first- and second-round pick is still a decent haul. As for the Flyers, Rossi’s 5-foot-9 stature does nothing to improve their grit, but his skill and smarts could be invaluable. While his size and the possibility of a long-term contract make Rossi a risky buy, nobody’s ever won playing safe.

Proposing a trade is always going to be semi-outlandish territory, but there’s reason to believe the young Minnesota center is on the Flyers’ radar. With an excess of draft picks, they can reasonably outbid Rossi’s other suitors.

Probably Schaefer, Misa, Hagens, Frondell and Martone will be gone at #6.

So, that leaves Desnoyers, O'Brien, McQueen and Martin all there still for us to choose from. Idk who to go with. They all have their positives and weaknesses, for sure.

I don’t follow the NBA - BUT the Dallas Mavericks won the draft lottery with a 1.8% chance. That coupled with the Islanders at 3.5% chance - wonder what the odds are of this happening ?

Seems like the new trend in mocks is taking Martin at 6.

The unfortunate part in all these drafts is only a few and in some cases not even that many pan out. Sometimes you look at a kid who was drafted 50 or higher that becomes a solid nhler, why? Because he landed somewhere that had good scouting and coaching. For me scouting has to be your number one priority, you need to be able to see that player as a whole and what his limit is and then make sure you have the personal to nurture that into a good solid nhl.player. To me it starts there and we a a huge void in those departments IMO.
