Ran into some SC fans last night at the Cowboy/Texan pre season game. They are pumped up and optimistic about tomorrow's game. They asked me about Oregon's season, I said defense is going to suck, but offense will out score 8 or 9 opponents. They said they have been to Autzen and it was the loudest place they have ever been. Good guys -- said they loved the women here in Dallas. Good luck Trojans whoop that Tide.

Top defense vs a team with a new coaching staff, brand new install of an offense, and a lot of new faces at skill positions I guess.

UW is a bigger favorite vs Rutgers than Ohio State was last year. Likely because of that turnover of the staff and team.

But yeah, that's a tall point spread to overcome for sure.

Unless Washington pulls a Tennesse and comes out ultra rusty, we should cover that spread. It's a lot of points and I'm sure some freshman and redshirts from last year could see some playing time which could lead to some mistakes to drive down the scoreboard. There is a dizzying list of names of players who should get playing time in 2016 that we haven't seen out there yet or very little last year that we'll see a lot more of this season.

But that being said. It's at our house and Rutgers has a lot of work to do. Huskies should win this one with comfort.

Manny Wilkins will be the starting quarterback for Arizona State against Northern Arizona on Saturday, coach Todd Graham said Friday morning.

Wilkins, a redshirt sophomore who was the backup to Mike Bercovici last year, emerged from a three-way competition with redshirt freshmen Brady White and Bryce Perkins, though Perkins was eliminated early in fall camp due to injury.

USC sophomore linebacker Osa Masina will miss the season-opener against Alabama for a violation of team rules.

Masina is under investigation for two different sexual assaults, one in Los Angeles and one in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. No charges have been filed against Masina, and he has not been arrested, but there is a search warrant has been issued in the Cottonwood Heights case.

Masina battled Michael Hutchings for starter's reps at linebackers in spring ball and fall camp but was listed as a backup on the team's depth chart for this week.
