You think these poor sons of bitches are going to lose the will to live when that streak ends? I mean it's quite literally the ONLY thing they have in their sports lives. Once that's gone how are they going to cope with all of those embarrassments on the national stage?

They're still trying to get the stench of the Alamo tankjob out of their memories, but that kind of disaster haunts a team for a very long time. The press is going to start bringing up that subject again as camp starts when they've been trying to pretend it never happened since the game.

They also seem to be clinging to this psychological line in the sand about 9 wins this season.
