Sorry the early history of the Pac 12 starts back with the PCC and Oregon was the very first conference Champion. Better?

yes and no. 1916 game for the 1915 season just like it is now. this was actually the first game with the name Rose Bowl.
so Oregon played in the 1917 game for the 1916 season beating Pennsylvania 14-0 and it was the Rose Bowl.
