We've heard ducks talk about track and shit for years. Wallace talks about college baseball.

I really don't see anything wrong with giving a quick shout out to someone that does something THAT big individually. You don't have to like the sport to appreciate that achievement.

I don't typically give a shit about mens basketball, more or less womens, but a big shout out to Kelsey Plum who now stands alone as the all time scoring leader in NCAA history after passing the 3,393 career point mark.

Did it in style too scoring a career best 57 points. She needed 54 to break the record and most figured it would come during the tournament, not today.

Quite the accomplishment. Congrats to her. All you hear about is Uconn WBB.
Not a fan of the womens BB but I'll take that( one slight mention) over ducks and their track talk.lol

Just saw that. I guess her teammates made a concerted effort to help her get the points she needed. That's pretty cool.

Well hell if we are going to talk PAC women's hoops. Tara Vandeveer won her 1000th game this season. Making her the third D1 coach to accomplish that task.

Larry Scott was on the radio this morning and while they spoke a lot about the basketball tournaments, they also covered some football related questions.

It's clear they are happy with the current CCG model of neutral site vs best record hosting it. There is no chance they are going back to that model any time soon. They have one year left on the contract with Levi and it seems likely they are going to sign again, but not for a long period of time. They have great interest in the facility being built for the Rams, and a clear desire to see the Raiders move to Vegas. They would jump at the opportunity to make it a truly neutral site in a state without a Pac school as well as having the Vegas attraction add to the lure for fans to travel.

Nothing new with Direct TV/AT&T and no negotiations actually going on with them at this time. Lines firmly in the sand.

A few teams have said they had hoped for more income from the network, however Scott pointed out they have exceeded their projections at the time it was launched as their forecast did not include Direct TV at that time anyway.

He's fine with the idea of telecasters not actually traveling to the venues they are covering as ESPN is doing now for quite a few of their games. It's a sign of the times and something we all have to live with. Doubt most know it is happening and many probably don't care if they are actually there covering it or in a studio somewhere back east. If it brings in more money to the schools I really don't have a problem with it. I'm a lot more about the action the field than anything most of those boneheads say anyway.

Vegas would a cool venue for the PAC CG. Maybe when the facilities are up they can rotate Santa Clara, Vegas and the Rams stadium. Could even throw in the Seahawks stadium and that would make everyone (except the AZ and Oregon schools) happy.

I'm more in favor of moving it to vegas every year. Have it in a city that doesn't have a Pac12 school. I mean Stanford has an edge if it's in the bay area, USC has an edge if it's in LA (UCLA for that matter if they ever pull their heads out of their ass), and obvious UW would have an advantage at the Clink.

It either needs to be truly neutral, or just go back to HFA for the best record. Wouldn't people bitch heavily if Stanford went from the north and say Utah went from the south and had a better record only to face what really is a road game at Levi? And have a valid reason to bitch at that.

It would be very SEC of the PAC to go back to best record holds the game. It gives your strongest team the best opportunity when a playoff birth is in play. But the PAC doesnt really make it easy for its teams.

The knock against it is the logistics more than the fairness, but Scott did say there were coaches/administrators that complained about the fairness aspect.

According to him, the neutral site game was more about how difficult it is to get an extra game scheduled on such short notice. He says most of the time the season comes down to the last game (rivalry weekend) to determine who will be going and it was a real challenge to get the staffing and all the details hammered out with such short notice.

I'd say pro stadiums figure it out with their playoff systems and not having notice of who will be hosting a game sometimes a week out.

I honestly don't have a problem with letting the team with the best record host it. If you want to jump that team in the CCG it adds a lot more to your ranking doing it in their own house. Have no issues with a league doing it that way.

But if you are going to claim a neutral site game hosting it in a city that has a team with any real threat to be in that game doesn't seem totally fair.

Isn't that a bit like calling a passing play at the 1y line when you have Marshawn Lynch in the backfield? :noidea:
