Washington St. plays @ Colorado this week and then it closes the season at home vs Washington.

I knew I had too many moving parts trying to make sense of that scenario for the few moments I had to type it up....

Oh well, 8-2 Colorado or 8-2 Utah ....

The only real difference now in that scenario Great Dane laid out is Colorado really could lose it's edge being out of the CCG and Utah having everything to play for, no?

I'm assuming GD has it right and USC needs the three way tie to advance to the CCG, I didn't check.

This said, this scenario does assume too that the Utes beat the Duck in Utah this week.

UCLA Football vs. USC: Bruins Not Favored In This One

The Bruins open up as 10.5 dogs in the Battle for LA, but I'm not worried about the Trojans too much since we are at home playing in the Rose Bowl.

I am more worried about the 4-6 Cal Bears game on the road next week, they are supposedly a very good home team this year!

WSU did beat Stanford, during a down period of the season, but who else? Idaho? Both of those wins were early in the season.

Nobody.

So now they are going to beat @ 8-2 Utah and then vs 9-1 Washington. Sure that's easily happening....

Also, USC winning out makes a lot more sense, but have you followed the Battle for LA? It's hardly ever determined by the team with the better record for the most part. Many an upset has been the outcome over the years. Sure you might suspect the outcome here, but don't go betting the mortgage!

Last Colorado beating Utah?

Sure, I can see that but not as much if they lose to WSU, it really takes the wind out of their sails if USC beats UCLA.

The road for USC is not paved in gold, it's still there, but at this point, it more like it's paved in pebbles.

This is the part that worries me.If and if USC beats UCLA.Which as we know the battle for LA is never a guarantee. And Wazzu beats Colorado which is also not a given. With the Colorado Utah rivalry being played after USC has already finished conference play. In that scenario knowing the outcome.And that USC has the tie breaker. Does that take the wind out of Colorado's sails for the Utah game.? SC winning the South is still a stretch imo

USC has to beat UCLA, then have WSU beat Colorado and Colorado to beat Utah. That would give Utah 3 losses in conference with USC and Colorado each having 2 losses and USC owning the tiebreaker.

And if USC beats UCLA. And Wazzu beats Colorado. Colorado will know they can't win the south going into the Utah game. While SC finishes with ND. Could effect their motivation to win. I think they still show up but they could be a little down. Unless SC gets a miracle and Oregon beats Utah. I'm not getting my hopes up on the South

I'd much rather face Colorado or Utah again than SC. All are likely to put up a hell of a fight, but I think we match up a lot better with those other two. Not sure who the pirate matches up against.

This all predicated on us getting to a title game, but hmm let's choose between team A. which has far more talent than WSU and a complete team or team B. Which is a really solid ball club but doesn't have a decent quarterback in case it turns into a shootout...hmm that's a tough one.
