@yoga≈surfing One of two Copeland songs they did....I always thought Fanfare for the Common Man was more popular but what I read after Keith's death said that Hoedown was. Who knows?
The song "Tocatta" on Brain Salad Surgery was denied permission by the publisher but ELP got permission from the composer... He was even (missing word) glad that a modern rock group wanted to record his music...and it was Keith who approached him about recording the song.I can believe that....the trilogy album was more popular than works vol. 1 so that figures.
They paid homage to many great composers on a few of their albums through the yrs. as you well know.

Probably should move this to the Emerson thread...but Trilogy was to me what Fragile was to a lot of people. I always thought it was the best progressive rock album ever. (though don't get me wrong, I learned how to like Tarkus...)It's a brilliant piece by Ginastera... and a great version by Emerson.
I think Tomita also did an interpretation/rendition?
Do you remember him?

Well, Yes was also one who used classical music, as was Ritchie Blackmore. Hell, Blackmore loved him some Beethoven. No worries...it's only a few posts, I'm sure no one minds....we can always just continue posting more tunes...
Here's Tomita doing a Debussy piece....

Beethoven is one word...Don't forget, we're doing one word titles........but I digress....
Beethoven is one word...
You do know that the reason for the CD being 74 minutes long in its original format was because of Beethoven's 9th?That was based on his 9th Symphony.....lol
....not artist's name.....song titles

Wish I could post some Supertramp for Even In The Quietest Moment but alas what's his name has stopped any of those being posted on YouTube except for his solo renditions of the the songs.Yes...no question.
Here's an instrumental cover of a Howard Blake tune....
