A fairly good run down. Interesting that Dalton Risner hasn't found a pro team home for next season.

It's all going to come down to how well the Broncos fill in behind the guards and centers.

To me it boils down to injuries and how well Bolles has healed.

Health is probably #1 as we are much improved on paper across the line less the center position but very thin behind the starters other than Fleming as the swing tackle. Center worries me though as if the center gets pushed back it puts too much pressure on the guards. I guess I am a bit pessimistic about the OL as it has been an Achilles heal for quite some time now. We should be significantly better but I want to actually see it.

I am a little shocked that Risner hasn't found a home. Some websites had him as the best free agent guard available this offseason. I highly disagreed with that, but the fact that he hasn't found a home yet is a bit shocking. I do think though that the Broncos got their biggest upgrade of the offseason at the LG spot with going from Risner to Powers.

I still worry about Kush at Center and Bolles coming back from injury at Left Tackle. I'm hoping that we really do get that strong running game - from a distinct preference in playcalling executed well by our new O-Line creating opportunities for our talented backfield. That would be ideal.

If Cush wins the starting job he is easily the biggest weakness on the unit. I'm hoping that possibly a more sped up offense that gets to the line and gives them a chance to actually look at the defense maybe helps the unit get on the right page. I doubt we have to do the count down of the play clock for Payton.

This is an easy answer...He found himself a girl and liked her more than football. I know his wife a little and he became obsessed with her. His offseasons were spent traveling the world with her rather than getting ready for a football season. I don't blame the guy for making such a choice but that then means a shortened career.

One can hope this is the year things click. Maybe the Payton offense and a new OL Coach can finally get him going in the right direction. I just have my doubts as many of his issues were not coaching related in my opinion. Some of the functional strength issues are more can he work on his body to be ready for what will be asked of him.
