No More "Bullpen Failure"
Jeff Banister is supposed to be on 105.3 The Fan at 5:00PM today for an hour with Ben and Skin.
I still wonder if that is going to be affiliated with a big league club or if it will be more like the Fort Worth Cats. Probably the latter I would think. For anyone interested, the amendment to build a new minor league stadium passed in Cleburne. If you are not acquainted with Cleburne, it's about 45 mi south of Ft. Worth.

Alex Gordon just made himself a FA.
Wonder what kind of deal he is looking for? Gave up 1yr/$12M. I know we have warm bodies on our corners, but always liked that guy.
No clue, but Texas does not need another left handed OF over 30.
I'd love to have him if our circumstances were different. His too actually.
He's probably looking for 3 years or more, and at a pretty steep price too.
Seems like the Cats would have a say in that, there would be some sort of territorial rule if it were an independent team. If it were MLB, I'd think that would be an issue too though.
For those of you who are both Rangers fans and Cowboys fans I wonder if Jason Garrett might entertain the idea of having Jeff Banister come in and talk to the Cowboys this week. The Rangers went through their own very tough extended stretch just like the Cowboys have. Banister's might be a voice that the Cowboys need to hear right now. Just an idea.
Anthony Iapoce is your new hitting coach...
Not much information out there on Iapoce.
Anthony Iapoce, who spent the past three seasons with the Cubs overseeing their Minor League hitting program, has been hired by the Rangers as their Major League hitting coach.
This will be Iapoce's first job in the Major Leagues. Prior to joining the Cubs, he spent three seasons as the Blue Jays' roving hitting instructor. After playing collegiately at Lamar, Iapoce, 42, played 12 years in the Minor Leagues.
