Not really its a pain in the ass its going to live another 70 years and get to be about 2.5 feet in duameter and the only choices I have is keep it or donate it. I can never just release it.
You can release it. My wife had 2 red headed sliders she hand fed for 3 years. They floated away in Katrina. Saw them the next year when the female came here to lay her eggs. 3 times bigger then when she was washed away. I know it was them because they let us feed them. They live in the wild now.
