There was one on the sidewalk in front of my office. Had it gotten out into the street, it would have been killed, so I moved it to a little park, a few doors down. Got careless with it, just for a moment.

I was attempting to grab it just behind the head, as I have grabbed many others, when it turned suddenly. This one was FAST. But just a garter snake. Not poisonous, and barely broke the skin. Washed my hands with antibacterial soap. No worries, mate.
