Got this from SteelerFury.
So a family friend was at camp today, he brought his nephew who has cerebral palsy. The kid just wanted to get autographs, but getting down to the line area from the parking lot was a real challenge. He worked his way, no easy chore, and finally got down there.
He got Roethisberger to sign his ball, at which point he started crying from joy. Our friend also started to cry, knowing how hard it was for his nephew to get down there. Ben asked them both why they were crying, and our friend relayed the story to him about not having an easy way to get to the line. Ben asked them how they would get back to their car, to which the friend had no real easy answer.
Ben signaled for a golf cart, and got them a ride back up to their parking spot. He rode along with them to their car, stayed a bit and chatted, then gave the newphew one of his size 14 shoes, autographed.
Made that kids day, big time.
Next time you hear a story about Ben in a restaurant not signing a napkin for joe beer gut, remember this one to.
