Doin just fine. Getting geared up for NHL free agency on Sunday. It will be a fast and furious day. Am expecting the GM of the Pens to be writing some big checks this weekend. Hopefully for Parise

I hated to see Staal go,to me and it doesn't matter what sport we talk about the salarys these guy are being paid has gotten outragous,,,,,

Staal basically put in his own resignation from the Pens when he turned down the supposed 60 million dollar deal. If Shero had waited till the end of next season, he would have received even less in return for Staal.

It was a tough decision to make, but it was the right one. Shero received a nice haul for a guy who is only one year away from free agency. If Carolina had wanted to, they could've just waited until he was a UFA. Instead the Pens got a typical third line center in Sutter, a defenseman who is about a year away, yet, and the #8 pick in this years draft.

That ain't too shabby. Sutter will never be Staal, but at least Ray managed to flip Jordan for value. By making that move it will allow the Pens to be bigger players on Sunday when free agency begins. This could be huge if Ray gets who he wants.

Money is at the root of all evil. Hockey players aren't exempt from that age old saying.

What is impressive to me is that the Pens seem to have changed their approach in recent times when they address financials. This used to be their Achilles heal, now it's a position of strength. It reminds me of how the cap mindful Steelers go about their business.

Indeed, sir. Remember that douchebag PG on Fox? He used to joke that the Rooneys still had their first communion money. Maybe so, but they also have six Lombardi trophies. Pro sports would be far better, for all of us, if more owners were like the Rooneys.
