What's the hoopkla consensus on lebeau

Consensus is that we all agreed that it was time to move on from LeBeau. We all wish we could have seen him retire a Steeler, but I think the tension was mounting over the last couple seasons. The Rooney's stated a while back that they wanted him to retire both a Steeler and on his own terms so that put Tomlin in a corner. But the resignation could be 1 or 2 things:
1) Tomlin finally grew tired of waiting and made the push.
2) Butler received offers and put the pressure on Tomlin. Butler was the "DC-in-waiting" of which the Steelers had blocked/denied requests for interview over several years.

Either way that it shook out, I think this is the right move. It was inevitable... At 77 years of age, everyone knew LeBeau was at the end of his career. Better to rip that band-aid off faster than to peel it back slowly. Butler has been working under LeBeau since 2003/2004 so he is the right guy for the job.

With Butler's signing to the DC position I think LeBeau's legacy will forever be intact... He worked under LeBeau for 10+ seasons so he will take all of the "mastermind" of LeBeau's schemes and mold it into a new-age hybrid defense. Can't wait to see what he cooks up
