He later paid an extra $12 million (estimated) for every existing copy because of guilt; he paid to ship 60 tons of contaminated soil to Hollywood for retakes. He kept a tight hold on the film, not even allowing it to be shown on television, for 17 years. Universal finally obtained reissue rights in 1974.

Yup, I don't think I've ever seen a Wayne film that I didn't like. My favorite is The Quiet Man; I used to sit and watch it with my mother, whenever it came on, back in the days when she was bed-ridden. It was her favorite, too.

I love The Quiet Man. The Duke, a hot Maureen O'hara, directed by John Ford, Mickoleen O'Flynn, Ward Bond. What's not to like. I can't watch that movie over and over and it never gets old.

I took your advice and went a got a hat today. I feel like Uncle Buck wearing it and I look like a dork (hell, I look like a dork all the time), but its warm and its supposed to be cold at Lambeau next week. Who would of thought it would be cold in Green Bay 3 days before Christmas.

besides I know my limitations if I went out and bought a cow it would become a damned pet,,,last thing I need is a 900lb dog roaming the yard

what??? think about it when you go to the store and go to the meat department and randomly pick what you want no problem,,,, right,,,, but buy a cow or hog for the freezer it has become personal after feeding it and watching it grow you are going to kill it, I'm sorry it would be like killing the dog and then cooking it, I have seen it happen with other people

we had a small farm when I was growing up .. we used to butcher a couple of hogs a year .... nuthin like cutting some thick slices of bacon off the slab in the morning for breakfast

My daughter raises a pig every year for the fair. The damn thing always ends up thinking its a dog and is treated like a pet. She didn't make sale one year and we had to have it processed. None of us (daughter and kids included) had a problem with eating it. I guess the love of bacon is stronger than the love for the whole pig.
