the change in coordinators is killing us that will take most of the season to come together and to be honest the play calling sucks so we will see,,,on the defence we need some new quality blood some of the guys are getting to old and some are injury pron and I like dick but it may be getting time for a new D coach

hell look at the packers .. they are in the same boat that we are in ... it seams like the teams that are generally good year after year are doing crappy .. and the crappy teams are doing good ... its a weird season

sorry Im just being real

I feel the same way,,,,,to me changing the offensive coordinator was a bad move,Ben has played 6 seasons under the old coach and getting him to switch the way he plays I don't think is going to work out a change like this can ruin a team,,,,,,,,,I'll let the record speak for itself on that statement,,,,I would have waited until Ben was in his last season and drafted a QB let the kid sit one season and learn, hell maybe they are already thinking that way

the offense is doing fine, despite not having DDC on board yet (yes, he will make the OL light years better as the only pressure will come from the edges)

the defense is the issue. ZERO depth at any position, two legacy vets going through the motions (Hampton, Keisel) who should have retired. two young DE's who fit a 1-gap scheme much better than the outdated 2-gap scheme LeBeau refuses to abandon despite the fact it can't win in this rules era. Repeated strike outs in the 2nd round of the draft. Nobody worth a shit being groomed to replace the playmakers (Harrison, Polamalu). The only thing going for the defense is he finally took the leash of Timmons, but that alone won't win games.

Say all you want about Cowher failing in the playoffs, but his teams never blew the type of leads this squad does. Tomlin is too buddy buddy and not enough of an authority figure IMHO (and you're seeing more of what product Tomlin produces now that half of the team he inherited is gone) . Look at the penalties we've racked up this year.

I don't see it that way the play calling sucks,we have no running game and even if did we don't have a #1 RB we have several 2nd and 3rd tier backs that won't get it done the Oline is already beat all to hell,,,as for the penaltys the Steelers have a bulls eye on them I'm sure Goodell has told the refs to call everything on us that they can and to let the other get away with as much as they can without being to obvious ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,like when Ben got his nose broken nothing no penalty and no fine,,,if that had been one of our boys and it was Brady with the broken nose the steelers would have been thrown under the bus

The Steelers are generally good year after year, but the Pack are like 95% of the rest of NFL. They seem to have a shitty season every 3 or 4 years, like the rest of us.

Afternoon, Steeler Nation. Saw the above discussion, and I'm still not ready to throw Coach Tomlin under the bus...

...but I'm REALLY starting to think that our boys have a major problem in the CONDITIONING Dept. In the first place, look at all the injuries...they're dropping like flies. And in the second place, look at how our Defense konks out in the late third and fourth quarters. Doesn't seem to happen when our boys are at home, where they've beaten two decent teams. Maybe the home crowd gives 'em a surge of adrenaline or something.

But on the road...SHEEESH ! ! ! Palmer and Hasselbeck are second-rate QBs, and our boys did a decent job against them early. Hell, they even got a couple of sacks on Manning early in the first game. But later on, toward the end of each game, all three have picked our boys apart. That's GOTTA be a lack of conditioning.
